i'm severely underolled for it, but i'm trying to get a feel for the cash games at AP. i've had success with sngs so far (got back on track after a bad run; playing better AND on a slight heater atm).

i just wanted to check a few things that i'm not completely sure of. first off, line check on these two:

btw absolute is 200bb max.

note: they also have microlimit blackjack where the min is 10c and the max is $20 (higher levels are 100x minbet for max)...so i've been doing the standard double-bet-after-every-lost-hand and i'm up $20-30 easily. is this sustainable? i already ran into the max bet once and lost, giving me a -$30ish session, but i'm still up overall so idk. i can easily just reset and grind back up when the bet reaches like $6 or something...

but a quick facebook stalk tells me he lives in the same town as mike marder, do you know him? he plays in our weekly offcampus game, actually about to head over there now.

long term that blackjack method is not +ev. imagine you were 50-50 to win each time to be conservative and easy.looking cumulatively; so the first time is 1/2 gain 1, half lose 1; second time 1/2 gain 1 (still the original win, so there is no second time in this set), 1/4 now gained 1, 1/4 now lost 3; so we are ev0 on average here. we can see this isn't going to change as the max bet increases 2,4,8,... and you're not as good as 50/50 anyway, so blatantly you're not good. the logic behind this doubling method anyway is like thinking that if you get a calculator and add 1+0.5+0.25+0.125... you will eventually reach two. you won't because you don't have infinite time available to you, let alone infinite dollar. it converges at infinity from below. and the max bet rule stops you getting close anyway. apologies i think i've rambled again, but i'm drunk as well as high now.
