IMPORTANT EDIT: BRINGING THE NOISE IS THE PATENTED TECHNIQUE OF POORUSER. HE IS A MAN OF MUCH WISDOM, AND I HAVE BEEN INSPIRED BY HIM TO CONDUCT THE EXPERIMENT HEREIN DESCRIBED.
So I told my soon-to-be student, gawdawful, that I would be doing an experiment. I'd move to his stakes, NL100 6-max, for a short while, trying to improve my ability to annoy and tilt the aggressive regulars.
You know, do some really stupid stuff like...lead minbet the flop, and when raised, insta-min-3bet. I would also do stuff like 3bet to half my stack preflop, or min-3bet somebody 4 or 5 times in a row whenever they raised. My goal, as I explained to him, was to cheaply and efficiently build an image that made regulars hate me. I wanted them to target me and to try to force me to play large pots, when they were holding medium hands or outrageous bluffs. Regulars have gotten fairly good at playing ultra-standard TAG style where they 3bet a lot, cbet a lot, and snap off cbets a lot as well. So I want to throw them out of their element, play a weird, unfamiliar game and do things they're not used to, because my understanding of theory will overcome their stylistic solidity. Plus they're tilt-monkeys.
After explaining all this, gawdawful commented that he'll make sure to avoid my tables while I'm at his stakes. I said that would be a good idea. So when I began my experiment, obviously I sat at one of his tables. He said in the chat, "guess it's time to sit out  "...but he kept playing.
It wasn't long before I took my first stack from him. He was raising a ton of buttons, to $4, so I was 3betting to $24 or more in the blinds. "Be a man and put half your stack in if you want to scare me. Otherwise, the noise is coming" were my thoughts. I could almost feel his blood boiling. He was steaming and he hated the fact that I was picking on him. I definitely made it clear that I had come to this table and sat next to him for the sole purpose of shitting directly on him. It was getting pretty personal.
It wasn't long before I won my first stack. So the following hand came up...I don't have the HH, but I think this is right. I have JJ in the small blind. gawdawful makes it 4 on the button, and I make it 24. He calls. On a queen-high flop, I check, and he shoves for an overbet. Obviously I snapcall and it's an easy ship.
I won another stack later, but can't remember exactly how. When talking to him on msn today, I commented that I can't believe he feel for my tricks when I told him exactly what I was up to. He said that it wasn't even my play, just so much as my existence, that tilted him. And now the funny part:
