Demolishing 6 max

So uni finished and I'm finally getting the chance to play a little poker.
Had a small downswing on titan, was on $200, on $180 now. Been finding the games on Pokerstars more interesting, the pla<x>yers are better there.
Also made myself an avatar:

would this raising every hand and 3 betting you lite make you more likely to call down for your stack?? :D

I HAD been destroying PS full ring, but went on monkey tilt a little when I played before my last exam . lost about $35 in that session. I seem to be being too aggressive for full ring, and no one 'adapts' to me there.

So decided to try 6 max @ 4 tables, and I'm finding it suiting me alot better. I'd still like to go back and fully conquer full ring, but I need to take a good look at how to best exploit the leaks there.(btw if you think the best way is by setmining you are wrong. wrong wrong wrong)

stats so far for PS:

goals for me:
-keep banking at NL5 until $200 then move up.
-make an anti-tilt blog post, to get myself into good solid anti-tilt habits
-try develop solid statistically profitable lag poker as best I can
longer term after I have leveled up:
-cash out some $ to get a Cardrunners subsription for a month and rip all their vids
-transfer about $200 over to PKR poker, I think this looks like a profitable and fun site, and it would suit my st<x>yle (4 tables max).
-COACHING FROM POORUSER

All comments and flames welcome Good Luck beating Luck!

:edit: and where is myth's article on excessive aggression?? I want to re-read it and I have to dig through news to find it...

solid profitable lag poker at these stakes is pretty dumb imo and nearly impossible (if not totally impossible) to achieve. You can win plenty by playing tag and reducing variance/tilt

subscribing to cardrunners for a month isn't very profitable. And by ripping do you mean recording the screen? cause you do know you can't just download their videos and watch them after you stop being a member right? You need a username/password for that so I guess you will have to record 360ish+ videos with like camtasia or something not sure you want to do that.

coachings from pooruser is something you probably don't want either. He plays a different style that doesn't suit a beginning player

fuck I should just sell some of my Pokemon cards, if no one stakes that is what I will have to do - lostaccountLast edit: 09/07/2007 01:41

much <3 loco. guess I should have just searched.
but I'm still going to play like a lagtard! the players at PS are actually good enough that i can read them and make profitable plays, and its much more interesting and educational i think. if it find it becoming unprofitable I will of course change, but at the moment its working well.
oh yeah, and i was going to try camtasia . i believe the digital rights management makes the downloaded vids unwatchable after a month? was just going to get like 10 vids of people I admire.

yea your account needs to be valid if you download them to your hard drive but if you rip them with a program it works

and well sure playing lag is a lot of fun but... honestly i doubt anyone starting at nl 5 and moving up can profitably play LAG. it requires soooooo much to play that style perfectly and profitably. Anyways, you will see what I mean when you have a bigger hand sample hehe

And PoorUser is not a LAG player, he's more like a brilliant calling station ;D

LAG in microstakes is not profitable .

I tried it didnt work, used to play 29/26 for a somewhat decent sample(30k) and the swings are awful, i recommend you stick to TAG style for a while, when you are at NL25 NL50 you "maybe" can start openning your game because people actually start to think.

Even if you wish to play LAG, 30/28 is not LAG, it's SLAG. On NL5 ppl won't exploit it at all, but you may have some problems higher. Try playing 22-24/18-20. Much more profitable obv.
I'd prefer sth like 16/12 on those stakes tho.

16/12 suits NL10 perfectly from my experiences
