banning yourself from SNGS and donkaments is a good thing !
Its one of my main mistakes that whenever i had a bad cashgame session i play some SNGS to make the money back T_T
90% i lose like another NL 20 buy ins due to suckouts.

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)

swings are common for poker, so you better get used to it.

Im having the same problem. I do great for a week, running good...then I lose a ton in two days straight, playing like shit, ending up where I started.

11/8 in 6max? I've played almost that low on occasion and it's pretty nitty. You realize that you can't simply decrease variance by nitting it up, right? If you play very nitty, you reduce variance from playing marginal hands, but you have new sources of variance:

1) the number of significant pots you are involved in is smaller, so an individual suckout in an all-in pot will take more hands to average out of your results than if you were in all-in pots more often. Basically, every time you lose an 80/20, it hurts you proportionally more than if a looser player loses an 80/20 because he makes money from more hands than you do. Another way to look at this is that unless the games you are in play so loose that they dictate 11/8ish nittiness, you are sacrificing some winrate, so normal variance will have a larger effect on your results.

2) your nitty image lets attentive people play effectively against you and also increases the proportion of your big pots that are cooler situations for either you or the opponent (the FGators Effect).

Plus I'd rather learn to play effectively at looser than 11/8 than grind NL20.
