I had 16 buyins for NL 25 so I decided to take a shot there. I opened up 12 tables and just grinded along. I played a pretty short session about 900 hands or so. For some reason I don't feel comfortable playing at NL 25. It just feels different to me, I think it affects my play at times. NL 25 seems much more tighter than NL 10 so I get frustrated at times when I get no action and action only when I lose. Does anyone else think that NL 25 has a large amount of super short stacks?

Here are some hands I played during my session(I would like to get some comments about them):

first somewhat big hand of the session

I was not happy with all the limp calls preflop and flop calls I got. Should I look to go all in on the turn if I get raised?

I do not like how I played this hand. I just didn't like the idea of stacking off on the flop or just calling to see what happens on the turn. The pot would be pretty big on the turn and I didn't like the idea of stacking off there if I had to. Maybe I should of not bet the flop I don't know getting raised on flops like these make me feel vulnerable. I do not like paired flops.

I have no idea why I played this hand this way. It is terrible lol. I should've just re-raised pre or raise on the flop. That way I get same results but it costs less money.

Standard cooler, this is the only buyin hand I think I lost.

I'm not sure about this one. I wasn't sure if I should 3-bet the flop on this hand. His small turn bet also confused me on whether he had a big hand or a weak one, but I had no choice but to raise the turn. I guess from his river fold I should have 3-bet the flop. I dunno I feel that I missed value on this hand.

Is my attempt at stealing on the turn okay?

I'm a bit embarassed by this hand. I could not understand what his hand was that would call me all the way down to the river. I didn't like the idea of calling a river shove if I bet so I checked on the river.

and here is the graph of my session...

PS: I swear they know when I have AA, everytime I had aces I would get no action at all!!!
thanks for reading this long post of mine.

My opinion of really low stakes like 25nl and also 50nl to an extent is that playing styles are all bad and easy to beat but very polarized. Everyone is either very tight/passive (weak tight) or very loose/passive (fishy). The best way to win is to find out who fits into which category, since generally there arent many TAG players (although there are definitely very loose/aggro players that are easy too).

I would recommend just seeing as many flops in position as possible but playing fairly tight postflop, never bluffing unless you know a player well, and value betting thin (like extracting whatever value you can with marginal hands) against fishy types and trying to minimize loss against the tight/passives when you have a marginal hand against them on scary boards.

When you have really strong hands, dont slowplay by default. Think about whether the turn (or river) can kill your action or outdraw you. So for example in that KK hand where you had top set, I would probably want to 3bet. Most 25nl players will pursue a draw or get scared off if the draw hits.

Also for example that AK hand where you checked behind on the river...if you arent comfortable firing another pot-sized bet you can just fire like 4 or 5 again to get a little extra value from weaker hands that might otherwise fold to a bigger normal sized bet, itll go a long way.

NL25 is the worst limit... every table has like 4-5 shortstacks and if you want to multitable its a constant pain in the ass to keep closing/opening tables cause the shortstacks at the tables you were in went broke and they left, then theres an empty seat, one guy sitting out and 3 more shortstacks, and the rest of the ppl at the table (3plyrs) only play premium hands...

I really don't get why is NL25 full of shortstacks... they don't even have the BR to be at NL5 but they put their fucking $5 in the nl25 table...
