Down 260$ at nl50 and only about 1 buyin of it was my fault. I got my money in massive favourite every time and still lose, AA vs KK allin on a rag flop, i lose ofc. I just cud not win a hand, it was most unreal thing ever.

I havnt played poker in ages either and then to come back to this, to ruin my BR further. What the fuck when will this downswing end?

Was at 2000, now sitting on 1150. And it's a genuine downswing. It hurts like fuck.

Dropped 350 from my shot at nl100, then now 8 buyins down on nl50. I guess i can keep going until

I've gotta stop looking at it as real money, doesnt help that my friends keep going "hows poker going, how much are u winning etc"

when all i really want to do is improve, i personally dont care about the money id rather lose it all and get better at poker than keep it and be shit.

I'll stay at nl50 until 800 then drop down another time. Gives me another 8 buyins or so before i have to regrind from 25. Alarm bells arnt ringing yet.

Rambling like mad but at least im talking positive towards the end of the blog rather than like i was at the start lol

Gl at the tables all.

GL!

what amazes me is that you've never experienced anything like this before... even on play money I remember i had an 10 buy-in downswing lol. its just the nature of the beast.

dealing with downswings is the part of poker that sorts the winning players from the losers I feel... the challenge is to keep playing as good and aggressive as you always have, and to make sure you do not spew away any buy-ins from frustration.
you might also consider becoming a bankroll nit, if you weren't already... just do anything you can do reduce your stress and to keep you playing this game well.

One thing you need to consider is that EVERYONE plays worse when they are losing than when they are winning. When you feel you are on a downswing, it's important to have a stop loss rule. Set a number of buyins (say 3, 4, or 5) and once you lose that much, stop playing. Wait till next day or a few hours, however long it takes for you to cool down.

lol it sux yes, but you can make 260 back at NL50 in a few hours. but never say its not ur fault. you may be down after a day, but at the end of the month you have to accountable for your own actions and know that you are either making or losing money based on your good/bad decisions. im sure there are leaks you're not aware of. but if you really did get you're money in as a favorite every time (which i seriously doubt), then who cares because these plays are obviously +ev and you will be making 60+ percent of those pots over infinite amounts of hands... there's no crying in poker. and as long as you're not busto there will be opportunities to improve so just look at it that way. GL yo!

We all go through these kinds of downswings at some point, no matter how talented you are. Good players will learn from it and become even better afterwards. Hell, I took a shot at 50NL and ended up going on a downswing until I was pretty much busto (although I also cashed out a lot, but that's beside the point), and now that I have experienced it I know how to handle it and better myself so that it doesn't happen again. I'm rebuilding and more confident in my game than ever before. You'll get back, it's just a matter of time. Like phexac said...the most important thing to do is set a stop loss for yourself so you don't end up tilting away your BR or whatnot, and move down if you have to. Also, one of the biggest things you can do is try to not go on tilt in the first place. Silver)Z( was right on point about this. I spent almost a month dealing with this kind of stuff, so if you wanna talk about it or need help staying motivated or something just PM me.

this is what happend to me before. ran a heater in may, went up to 2500 from absolutely my own 1700usd deposit . lost 11bi at 100nl then. moved down to 50nl, lost another couple went back to exactly 750 last july then ran a heater went up to 1500 in late july. then suddenly went in limbo mode living just on pure rakeback at ftp (sad) earning only like 300 in two months. moved to prima and played, won 300 there then put like 350 at evt, ran a heater at both sites in october , built it up to 4k i think including bonus around 4400, then hit a downswing at november 100nl like 8bi. then for the last time got all my money out, left 600 november 15. moved to ub now its at 2300 but at stars .
you see its really that bad when you're still learning poker. i still am of course learning to control and discipline myself all the time. it's just a hard hard thing to learn. frankly i hate poker, but its good money if i learn to play well and not just rely on heaters because heater/cold runs are given to you at an equal amount, so you must rely on yourself to get more value from heaters and less spews from the downswings. control is always the key esp at the low limits.
