I've noticed that when I'm winning I'd usually just stop after a hour or so. But when I'm losing I'd go on playing for 6-7 hours. I think losing just motivates me to play more and try to improve. So basically I hate losing and winning bores me. I hate money??

You gotta work on this man, I need to too. It's a lot harder to quit while down a bit. But when you're losing, you also very probably play worse so playing many hours makes no sense.
At least TRY to play longer sessions when winning, because you're also generally playing better then too.

I think after I lose quite a bit I feel I'll start to play better after a while and I very rarely tilt if at all. Most of the time when I'm down I'd just end up winning most of it back in 3-4k hands and then quitting after I break even or lose another big pot.

thats just normal !

Its an ugly feeling to stop when ure down 3-4 buy ins or more
So everyone keeps playing till at least breakeven.

When ure up 3-4 buy ins however you can quit and feel good.

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)Last edit: 03/02/2008 13:52

I generally always drop 3-4BI at the start of a session then spend the rest of it grinding back. Come out on top more often than not.

We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.

You're scared to lose your winnings that's why you stop earlier and you don't like to finish a session in the red so that's why you keep playing until you break even. The first one minimize your profit and the second one increases the risk of tilt and therefore your losses.

Odds are exactly 50%, either happens or it doesnt

I'm not scared to lose my winnings I just get bored after a while. Second I just feel I could play better and try do to that and I don't find finishing in the red as long as I feel I played good.

if you notice your play is dropping during a winning session, then there is nothing wrong with taking a break and getting your focus back. I do this quite often. During a losing session I just stop and take a break if I lose like 2 buyins or something.

Of course all this is easier said than done =(

i usually drop a buy in or two before winning 3-4 and quitting. I have to play shitty to realize i'm playing shitty then spend 3 hours to earn it back + more? :D
Of course when i run good instead of dropping buyins and then tighten up life's super good
