yeah i do hope it means you'll meat a nice chick soon. I played chess too for a long time, i have a 2k rating w/ USCF. and maybe it could be a sign that you'lll be very successful at poker too because poker is very similar to chess in that it isnt a game of chance and/or luck. Poker is a game of skill and being able to level your opponents to maximize profit kind of the same way that chess works, you need to think 7-8 moves ahead or have enough experience to know where certain openings or midgame lead in terms of endgame so that you can checkmate your opponent in the end. this probably means that you are very worried you'll never find a girlfriend or love in your life

you are also insecure of your own life/poker in that you feel that you are a degenerate (because u have such an important need explain poker to your chess teacher)

ur need for external validation to that degree means u likely have very low self esteem

+ u have some homosexual tendencies and have problems/unfinished business you need to work out with your dad or some very important authority figure in ur life(indicated by events with chess teacher / could be about ur mom if she's the dominant parent)

gf/love - Before some time I broke up with a girl that was very very close to me... recently I met her again, so I was kinda thinking about this, worrying if I'll ever find someone like that again etc. ... basically what you're saying

life insecurity - I definitely don't feel like I'm a degenerate and never really questioned any of this myself, but recently I dropped out of school (although I'll be applying again for the winter semester) and talked about some poker vs school stuff with my dad and was in general explaining myself a lot lately. Although I don't question this stuff, society does and I was thinking about that for a bit the day before I had the dream. I also had a big downswing and for a while I was actually dependent on winning in poker to be able to pay rent, buy food etc. (maybe I wasn't really, but I definitely felt like that) ... so there was some insecurity in this.

self-esteem - I think this part of the dream took part more because I have been asked to validate myself a lot in the past month, not because I feel I need to. I have a pretty high self-esteem, although it's true that it could've been shaken by the downswing, so this might still be true.

homosexual tendencies etc. - hmm, I think the reason I met my chess teacher is that he was quite disappointed when I stopped playing chess actively. I also used to talk to him a lot about different stuff and he was giving me some "life advice" when I was younger. I started playing chess again for a bit recently and remembered him because of this and was thinking about a few things. Possibly, as I was explaining myself to a lot of people lately, I had to explain myself to him too in my dream. It feels like I had some unfinished business with him, if that's a possible interpretation. I had an argument with my father, but it's now finished (although just recently). What I mean is, that my chess coach doesn't seem to be a random male in my dream, I think there's a good reason that I've encountered him and not someone else.
btw: My mom is definitely the dominant parent, I have no problems with her at all though.
