I decided to switch it up and play low stakes omaha. The games are really soft but thats really not why I switched. Holdem is just way too boring at low stakes and I can't put in the necessary amount of hands needed day after day to grind my way up when its just not fun. I also don't really have the time tbh and I don't want to play out of my roll.
The reason I don't find it fun is that the thought process is just so limited at lowstakes and at times I find myself overthinking way to many hands and assuming my opponents even have the slightest clue as to how to play poker.
The problem lies in the fact that I like to think about hands and not just play like a robot constantly, thats just no fun. So since im completely new to Omaha I get to spend more time thinking since I have 4 cards in my hand instead of two and really think out how the hand will develop etc....
I was reading around 2p2 one day and I saw a quote that I found helpful. It basically said that you should spend over twice the time studying the game than you spend playing it when you are new. I found this to be helpful and my knowledge of poker has grown tremendously over the past month but i guess I'm too lazy to mechanically nutpeddle microstakes vs holdumz donks.
Oh well, any good Omaha players on here? I might start posting some hands. I hear 40buyins is the standard rule since variance is crazy. However its just so soft at the microstakes i might move up a little quicker. Any good tips to keep in mind to help progress as an Omaha player over time?
Oh I just flopped a straight flush while typing this. Good sign?

omaha is a great game , i love it.
i invite you to play some deep stack tourney sometime, the daily 8 buy with 3k starting chips.
in poker star, you will learnt a lot..you can try some sng too or some micro HU ..
for the cash game don t go crazy with big pocket untill you flop it..
and if you have some abiltity to find a player who go crazy with AA or KK try to make 2 pairs or find a good flop..
they can t laydown big pocket..it s fun excercice, you will see...
for now i wish you the best..
you will see more action then in holdem definitely, have fun.
I was playing poker with tarot cards the other night. I got a full house and four people died. WTF...welcome to finland...
yes i found that two pair is similar to tptk in holdem in many situations, aka its almost never good to play for stacks with
ill definitely check out that tourney, thanks

not much more variance...as long as you know where your hand stands and avoid getting it in bad often you should see that there is not massive swings at lower stakes.
I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time
