Q3 depends on your playstyle. For me, well I suck at cash game, becasue I gamble too much, and often pushes without flop play, like a true tourney player. That's because I'm playing SnGs, MTTs and such.

I usually play NL1000, but accidentally misclicked.

1. i wouldn't really recommend reading a book while playing, it'll distract you and you need full concentration
2. if you are going to read a book, just read one...multitasking poker with multiple books has failure written all over it
3. personally i found starcraft to be a very fun game, although i also love old school sega genesis rpgs
4. i think most people find that AA and KK end up their most profitable, hands like AKs and other pocket pairs are also very profitable.

Just keep in mind that even the best current poker books contain a lot of horrible advice, you need to read in the forums about specific hands, preflop strategies, why people do certain actions etc and combine that with the math/mind provoking part of books like "theory and practice".

My work is of high quality, cheap and fast. Pick only two of those though.

I don't think there is any reason to get more than one book because of how they tend to repeat 95% of the stuff in them and what one book lacks can be supplemented with the intarnet.

This is nice:

#1: Best Book: Theory and Practice from David Sklansky. Teaches you the basic concepts like pot odds and EV with many examples. Good book to get started.
#2: You don't have to read many books, because they all repeat each other. #1 covers up all the theory you need to, rest of poker success is grinding and getting experience, also chatting with other (preferably better players than yourself) about specific hands, also hit the low stakes poker forum and ask for advice there and read what is written there.
#3: Depends on yourself. Probably Tournament poker is a little bit more profitable because there are more fish and it's quite easy to learn, because there is no depth in strategy there as soon as the blinds go up, and the lack of postflop play adds to it's easiness.
Personally i prefer cash games now because I can quit anytime I want and there are not as boring ans swingy because you are not flipping coins for stacks all the time.
#4: see #3

money won is twice as sweet as money earned.
