Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated. | Last edit: 18/09/2008 18:43 |

The fish thought process will go something like this: "well I can't see how he can often be holding a 7 or a house here and if he is then he's an idiot who's sucked out, therefore he's full of shit so I call with my TT". You will walk in to trouble doing this sometimes but I find it massively profitable to spot the situations where the board has become shit scary but it still misses most of your fish's range. Using this thinking, we can make scary boards our friend for A LOT of value.

i stopped reading here because i realized that you are doing exactly the same thing i was doing when i was struggling trying to beat up on fish at 50/100nl after going busto. u r making a ton of false assumptions -- i made the same mistakes -- and basing your actions on them. what you actually described in your QQ 3bet situation is a range merge. The key to beating fish is to play exploitably, the reason they are called fish is because they DONT think. they dont have a thought process. they look at their hand and if they think its a good one they play it. basically a bet looks strong to them and a check looks weak.
the key to beating fish is to play exploitably, and to value bet them to hell. dont expect they are thinking ... otherwise u arent even talking about fish.
u seem like u definitely have potential to beat up on regulars and better players in the future though based on the fact that u are thinking in this way, and thats a real good thing, id just advise u to stay away from making false assumptions about your opponents so that u dont fall into the same type of trap that i did.
