NL10 is such a weird experience. The max I can win is 3 buy ins before I drop down to about -2 buy ins... then I'll start making it back but once I hit 3 buy ins everything goes haywire. Bad beats are part of it but I still think regular play should make up enough profit to cushion the impact of the bad beats. I've posted the stats for my last 5K hands (after I started playing a little more loosely PF. Trying to hover around 14/10). Anything badly wrong?

So... I'm not sure what I should do now. Right now I have nothing except this website and Pokertracker to help me. Are there other things I should start looking at like PAHUD or training videos and stuff? Or is NL10 too early for that?

if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN

seems to me that you really have to alter your game, because u basically cant run bad on nl10 with vpip of 13 and almost 6k hands

sounds like a rough spell, but u could maybe improve a little by getting ur VPIP and pfr a little closer so u have the lead going into pots more often

rolon its definitely possible... i ran -$100 in expected value over about 10 k hands, swings happen at all limits

this 6max or full ring? if its 6 max u need to open up heaps more

if its full ring ur playing good stats, just depends what tables u join. if u join the tables with the highest players/flop, play like 10/8. if u join a table full of nits then open up more.

ALSO open steal from the button 100% unless the big blind is some massive fish

2 things ->

1.) if this is 6max -> your way too tight 18/16/3 would be a lot better than 13/9
2.) flop aggression is kinda high ( not necessarily too high , since 7.8 may still be okay) , while total agression is kinda normal.
maybe u overplay your very big cards out of position and also miss a lot of value by not playing good hands (JTs,QJs,76s,89s etc.) in position

i cant really judge just from stats without hands
but this 2leaks might be the case

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)Last edit: 13/04/2008 04:51

13/9 14/10 is fine i d even call it best for this limit
its never early for PAHUD in fact i d say that pahud is unusable at limits like 1knl +++ ( at least imo ) since players there mix it up a lot so most of the stats arent really usable ( dont they ? well dont really know but in order to play there they should mix it u)

stats would still be extremely helpful even at nl1k but i see wat u are trying to say

play 12/9 and lower ur flop agg factor, you're obviously cbetting wrong flops high % of the time.

i think you're playing way too tight.

players at NL10 overvalue top pair way too much. With that being said, when you flop sets you tend to get paid off alot. So set mine. Thats basically what i did and it helped me get paid ALOT... especially in Full Ring.

If i was in middle or late position and no one raised(and the players acting after me tended not to reraise), i would just limp with any pocket pair from 22-88.

If someone raised before it got to me ill just fold unless there were at least 2-3 other players who called - and if i dont flop a set im out of the hand simple as that.

Alternatively if no one raises pre flop i would raise with 22-88, and if there was just 1-2 players who called, i would cbet the flop but fold to a raise or give up on turn.
