I've been browsing political shit today and I've noticed a funny trend. When republicans comment at the end of the articles to support McCain, the posts are filled with typos, bad grammar, bad spelling, and extreme levels of cocky "WE PWN U NOOBS" gloating. Lot's of name calling and very little focus on policy.
I'm strong to the finish, when I eats me spinach,
I'm Popeye the sailor man! toot toot!
Let's look at an example:
| YEAH MCCAIN!!!
Have you ever wonder why the symbol of the Democrats is a DONKEY- Because you all is that. MCCAIN GOT THIS… I Have never seen so many dumb people. LOL
KEEP FIGHTING YOU ALL IS HELPING OUR PARTY. LOL
WE are not even worrying about a backfire. We already know Democrats are dumb and lazy. So I hope Obama win so we can keep the Whitehouse because you all are to DUMB to go vote….lol
MCCAIN 08
P.S.
we will rule for another 4years and keep you ALL in your PLACE…lol
SORRY DONKEYS YOU WILL NOT GET THIS ELECTION |
That's straight from CNN.com as a comment to a story about how McCain has flip-flopped on his Hamas position (click here to read). I was going to bold all the typos but realized I'd basically just have to bold the entire thing.
Here's another one:
| cnn u make me sick u put out obama like hes fighting like a man whith his speeches against bush and hilary you just love this odnt you you make him look as good as you want and take a crap on everyone els obama is a chuuummmp he is a political puppet controll by the dnc and they still cant get things right this liberal bias is sickening and whats worse is theres nothing of value to speak of on the demecratic side but thats ok the liberals have started ruining our country a long time and now they want a well spoken puppet BOY to run our country thank you you socialist hypocrites please let me leave before you finish burning our country to the ground lit by the flags youll start the fire with |
All sorts of cries about the liberal media and flag burning and destroying America and a bunch of crazy lunatic BS... this guy probably loves Bill Oral-ly and Fixed News.
So what are the rules here? If you're a violent testosterone war mongering nut-job who barely passed high school then you become a republican? Also if you're a cold hearted business asshole who doesn't give a shit about anyone else, you join the republican party? Are those the two groups that comprise it? I guess there's also the holier-than-thou lunatic evangelical Christians too. And if you're an overall kind and generous person but you're poorly educated, you support Hillary? It's fucking weird.
Ok, that's not really fair cause I have some Republican friends and they're not morons or assholes. Actually every Republican I know personally is a smart and good person. And I agree with a lot of core Republican values, like fiscal responsibility and states keeping their power and more, so despite my extreme generalization in the above paragraph I don't have anything against republicans... just the idiots who act like the comment ors above. Usually I notice the difference between Obama supporters and Hillary supporters, which generally is that the Hillary ones are a bit more ridiculous (she can still win!) and negative (Rev Wright!) and the Obama ones are usually a bit calmer, gracious and positive and hopeful for a better future. But today I saw some McCain ones and it was like "Whoa, these guys are wackos!"
The nice thing is that the Hillary supporters are slowly disappearing from the comment sections on all the news sites... where there used to be all sorts of cries of media bias and lists of reasons why Obama shouldn't be president (usually a list of stuff which had already been said a million times and proved wrong), now we're only seeing sad posts of acceptance with the occasional "you go girl, don't give up!" tossed in.
I'm excited for Tuesday. I'm gonna watch the results with wings n beer and celebrate when Obama finally gets the majority of pledged delegates. Time for the general election... which should be fun. I guess we can thank Hillary for already beating Obama's negatives to death so that when the Repubs try lots of people will be able to brush it off cause it's old news that is obvious BS.
As far as poker goes, the restart has gone pretty well. Was running like god so I jumped back up to NL100 for a bit and then ran like normal. Still up for the last 2 days though and planning to play a bit more today. I'm really focusing on shorter sessions and spending a good amount of time before I play working on getting my head straight so that I'm totally focused on playing perfect poker and avoiding tilt, spew and mistakes.
No plans for the weekend right now - might make it a bit of a video game / poker weekend if the GF will let me, hehe. Maybe if I take her to a salsa lesson on Sunday she'll be ok with me spending the rest of the weekend being a computer nerd. I guess it will be ok though cause she's getting lasik on Saturday so that means no going out tonight and probably not tomorrow either.
Ok, off to exercise. Need to get back into shapeeeee

Never heard of digg. I try to avoid far right and far left hangouts, cause either extreme tends to be pretty nutty. |

I just took a quick glance at digg and I think you guys totally missed my point. I'm not talking strictly about conspiracy theory nutcase shit, I'm mainly noticing the tone (you suck, we rule, you guys are idiots who are destroying our country) and the horrible grammar/spelling.... I didn't look that closely but browsing some comments on digg they at least seemed to know how to spell and use periods. Didn't bother to look to see how crazy they were (though the story about bush being a nazi looked like a stretch, lol). |

Politics shouldn't be about what party you are affiliated with, but what is best for the country. America's politics are quite fucked up, not that Canada's are much better. |

true true. When I first registered I was a republican but switched to dem 4 yrs ago cause I hated bush and wanted to be able to vote for the dem candidates. But I don't really have any big love for either party cause they both have a lot of BS going on. I try to decide based on the candidates and while I originally liked Edwards I became a big Obama fan as I researched him and have watched him. I definitely think his approach and plans are the best for the country. I liked McCain for a long time, but this election he's quit being McCain and turned into McBush. I liked him cause he stood up for what was right and didn't kiss any ass. Now he's just taking on bush's plans and kicking his morals to the curb. So sad to see cause he was by far the coolest republican. |

Operation Chaos ftw
All candidates are fucked up this election.
The Dems. are socialist and all about bailouts, taxes and social programs right now. Please stop trying to regulate me and make me pay for people that don't want to work for a living, thank you.
The Republicans aren't being any better, as President Bush is being a big pussy and One World Government supporter. McCain wants to relax our borders and make us change the way that we live our lives because of the almighty "global warming". Tell China that. 2 billion people breathing leaves a bigger carbon footprint than my Bronco.
All politics are fucked up atm. They all want money and power and want to shit on the little guy (us) at our expense. Give me my liberty back and stop trying to scare me into giving up my freedom. Fuck you Real ID act.
Didn't want to type so much on your blog, but fuck. I'm so pissed at our govenment right now I'm going to punch my wall and not give a fuck if there's a stud behind it. Sorry. |

Here are my views
The main difference between the Republicans and Democrats this year are their views on the Iraq war.
Republicans want to stay indefintiely
Democrats want to get out asaply
For me, I feel we are wasting billions of dollars on this war which we had no reason going into in the first place. Obama was cons instantly against the war and I agree with him. Mccain wants to stay for 100 years? Recently he said amended that to until the year 2013. Well I read that the "War is Costing $720 Million Each Day" If you do the math, that's just an astronomica number.
And Moffa says that "The Dems are socialist and all about bailouts, taxes and soical programs" Well Moffa, I'd much rather spend this money on that than a pointless war from a Guy who wanted to rehash and old fued with Saddam Hussein then because he didnt have an exit plan - and ends up leaving a clusterfuck in the Middle East.
We just endured 8 years of the Bush Administration which consisted of constant fear mongering, deception, and corruption. In any sane person, the word Republican will leave a bad taste in their mouth.
We have to cleanse ourselves completely from the Bush Administration and their political policies.
And thats why we have to Vote for Democrats this election and keep with this party until the Republican party begins to get back to what their main credo is of less government and they need overhaul their image of being the party that grants favors to their friends, being in lobbyists back pocket, appeasing oil company's for record profits, so on and so forth. Ron Paul was very much refreshing this year and I wish he was still in the political conversation.
While personally, I think less government is better. I just think it would be horrible for the country to have another four years of a Bush Republican in office.

You wouldn't know it judging from their behavior in congress. I think even the most ambitious pull out plan still sees significant troops present in Iraq/surrounding areas. I believe we won't be leaving Iraq until we are FORCED out. No politician, no matter how genuine he is about pulling out, is going to be able to stand up to the various special interests that want to stay in Iraq. |

lol this reminds me of a couple of Hillary fans my roommate and I met at a Ron Paul rally at school this past semester. We were all waiting in line in the rec hall for it to start and these 2 girls came up trying to get into one of the racquetball courts we were all blocking the entrance to. One of them then started to ask us why people like Ron Paul and what he is all about, and we told him about his economic policy, foreign policy, plans for the IRS, etc., and then we ask her who she liked. She said that she was a die hard Hillary fan and that she doesn't like anyone who thinks differently, and when we asked her what she liked so much about Hillary she just couldn't answer and came up with a bunch of bullshit answers that resulted in her constantly contradicting herself as we asked her questions. Based on people I have met at school, this is usually how Democrats are...they have their candidate that they like but they have no idea why but still try to sound smart by making up some bullshit or contradicting themselves, by trying to put down Republicans and their policies instead of trying to advertise their own and make themselves sound good, or by talking like the people in those posts on CNN. I registered as a Democrat last year to vote in the midterms but I'm really not overly excited about any of these candidates (that actually have a chance of winning the general election...sorry Ron =[ ), so I'm still trying to decide who I am going to vote for. This summer I plan on doing a lot more research on these candidates now that I actually have time, but if I had to vote tomorrow I'd probably still go with the Dems and pick Obama. |

what no one wants to comment on my poker achievements, just a bunch of political BS? WTF?!?!?!
haha jk jk
I pretty much agree with everything snider put down there. I think that most politicians are in the game of doing favors for money and all sorts of behind closed doors favors to friends and so on... we've all heard it a million times. But lately the republicans have gotten especially bad. All that time in power and they got greedy imo. There's a lot of good republican ideas and go back 25 years and I don't think republicans were very bad at all. But the last 8 years things have just gone insane on the republican side. Pretty fucking gross and we need to get away from it. I agree that ron paul was a refresher, and also mccain of 2000 was pretty sweet, but that's a different man than McCain of 2008. |

I agree that this war has been too long and needs to be over, but the truth is it's not going to be over very soon. We should have been done by now, and we are wasting money and men day after day.
My support for the president has done a total 180. This upcoming election pisses me off royally as the republicans have really become loco. On the other hand, I'm not looking forward to what the Dem's bring to the table.
Just get back to the constitution and hit the government with a shrink ray.
k2o4, best of luck at the tables, keep steamrolling. Make enough money that politics and taxes don't effect you.
