I have not played poker for nearly a month and a half. I am not suffering any BR or downswing problems, it is a little strange I just don't feel like playing much.
What are some ways you guys got motivated to play poker again?

if you want it bad enough then you'll motivate yourself to play. |

I think you either have it or you don't.
Things that keep me motived though are just reading interviews of professional poker players (http://www.liquidpoker.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=492375), reading 'The Well' threads on 2+2 (Jman's http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthread.php?t=88525), watching poker vids, etc. |

think of poker like a computer game and u want to reach level 10! (which is 5/10 i think)
Level 1: NL2
Level 2: NL5
Level 3: NL10
Level 4: NL25
Level 5: NL50
Level 6: NL100
Level 7: NL200
Level 8: NL400
Level 9: NL600
Level 10:NL1000
Level 11:NL2000
Level 12:NL5000
Level 13:NL10000
Level 14:NL20000
Level 15:NL40000
Level 16:NL60000
Level 17:NL100,000
After you complete Level 17 you win at life

I have learned that there are two kinds of motivators, internal and external. Internal is the need ot succeed or become the best. External is tangible stuff, primarily money. You probably are not the former as these people never have trouble logging in hands. Your probably don't need the money financially either. This is most likely why you posted this lol. Anyways.
Little things you can do to change these though are like some have mentioned is watch inspiring interviews and articles to make you want to become better internally.
Start spending more money, buying stuff that makes you happy, thus increasing the desire for more money to spend. These are the only two I have came up with since I have been having trouble finding motivation for about 6 months now. |
