So I been realizing a lot of min raising from button in head up sngs at the higher stakes. I have been wondering is it a leak to be consistently raising 3x the bb from button and 4x bb from BB, if button limps.
I have played up to the 200+10 head up sngs with some of the best on stars, like ThePabloShow, who is a very good heads up player, I believe he only plays heads up, 200+10 sngs and higher at times. I have played him a handful of times and he beat me 3 of 5.
But back to the subject of the min raising from button, the most recent time I played him he had been min raising a lot, ocassionally 3x bb, he's one who cbets a lot of flops. But it has jus got be to thinking is this a much better idea for the later stages of blinds, like 50/100, so you don't commit yourself to one pot. Also if this is a good idea, what hands should I be min raising with, if not all? When playing ThePabloShow he was raising 3 times bb with premiums majority of time when we went to showdown, but I saw a 76o once, which threw me off. I would like anyone who has good knowledge on head up to post their thoughts, thanks a lot everyone and GL!

i typically play headsup cashgames and make it 3x from button and 5x if button limps, not sure how well this transitions to sngs though. usually when im playing sngs i start making it 2.5x at 25/50 or 2x at 50/100, whereas up until then i make it 3x. idk typically it becomes shove poker though as when you have even stacks its only 15bb and the deep stages of sngs makes me prefer cashgames to sngs. |
