Generally I would agree with you, but in this case, I really don't want to get limp-jammed on as this guy will sometimes do. Sure he'll do it with worse hands sometimes, but I really don't want to put myself in a situation where I have AJ and am facing a shove for my full stack. I'd rather limp and play post-flop since I am quite certain when I do make my hand, it will be ahead of him and I will be able to take away the pot a lot of the times when I miss. These is also not much chance of blinds shoving since they are passive. And in fact it worked out exactly as I predicted, except that getting 2-outed part. This really was a frustration post since I have been getting all sorts of beat in this particular tourney over the past 2 weeks.
