Ok, it wasn't world war 2, but in comparison to everything we'd been in involved in it wasn't tiny. What, we won the war in bosnia without putting any troops on the ground. We had 1 fight in mogadishu and pulled out. Afghanistan was by far the biggest military operation that we'd had in years. So in comparison to the history of the world, it wasn't major like vietnam, ww1/ww2/, korea and so on. It's just more of this BS of trying to link Iraq to 9/11 when they weren't linked at all. The taliban attacked us. They were based in afghanistan and funded by saudi arabia. Instead of going full steam ahead into afghanistan and kicking the shit outta the taliban and CATCHING osama, we gave it a half assed effort and planned to go to Iraq, withholding resources and troops from afghanistan. So when he just totally dismisses afghanistan like that it pisses me off.

And supposedly obama is actually a pretty good poker player. There's no way in hell we'll ever find out for sure though, especially now that he's the nominee. Imagine Obama on poker after dark, lol. that would be so tight.

haha, i think you're getting wound up about mccain's semantics. most of what you're looking at is shameless political maneuvering. despite sucking in a lot of other fields, mccain almost certainly knows the iraq time line around the surge. it's either a mistake or political semantics.

i agree with nero. given 9/11's impact on the states' perceptions, afganistan was small relative to the inevitable invasion/subjugation of some nation or another. iraq was a shitty choice, but ah, i couldn't be fucked to deal with american politics from here.

i have 2 cousins that were rangers in afghanistan... all it was was the same thing we've been doing vs terrorists for years in other countries just much more publicized and public and this time we had flags on the hummers instead of having rangers and seals doing it as black ops project. thats why it didnt work... cus we didnt give them anywhere near wut they needed to have a war and it almost cost my cousin his life... n i'll probably be there in about 8months
