Hi all just wanted to introduce myself... long time lurker and new poster. I've learned a lot from this site, and I'd figure I should start posting at some point. I've played poker in home games and casinos for years, but just started online a while back. I deposited $100 on pokerstars and did what I do at a casino: went to the $1/$2 table. I sat down and after a few days had $900. Then I happened upon this site and realized I sucked, really bad, but I had had the most ridiculous hot streak of all time. I cashed out and didn't play for months.

Lately I've been working on my game and have become a very consistent $2 and $5 sng player, but I don't play for anything like the stakes I do at live games. I also play a lot of HORSE and it's consituent games, and I'm usually the best player at the table at any of the ORSE games at low stakes. The only game that I'm actually not a consistent winner at is NLHE cash games. For some reason I'm a slightly losing player (I think, I'm still up from my nl200 run).

Anyways my welcome present for finally registering for lp was the following hand 5 minutes after my confirmation email. It's my first one ever at showdown and it actually got paid off well despite the scary board (I don't understand why people think low stakes sngs are high variance... they are waaaaaay too soft to let the variance interfere with your results).

Oxy, that surprises me. I thought it was pretty standard to flat a minraise with a decent hand as a bigstack late in a tourney. My plan for the hand was to fold if I miss and v-bet/c-bet if I don't completely. I had a really strong table image, I had been pushing people off hands a lot and winning every showdown.

In detail my plan was:

King high flop: bet value 3 streets fold to raise.
Ten high flop: c-bet size, re-raise a re-raise, fold to continued agression.
2 Hearts: c-bet, fold to re-raise
oe straight draw: check call c-bets, fold to big raise.
Combo draw: as played
All other: c/f

I thought the implied odds here made it a worthwhile flat becuase I can throw the hand away so easily if I don't hit, but he's commited to most flops that hit me well. Beyond that, I thought I was the strongest player post-flop at the table, and wanted to see lots of flops and use my big stack to win small pots (the other players were playing weak, basically only re-raising with the nuts, ex: minraise with AQo oop, or flatting tptk post flop on a drawy board).

Is my thinking wrong here?
