was playing in a 5/10/20 live game at foxwoods (well, ive been playing all week).
foxwoods dealers split tips so typically i'll wait until i'm done for the session and toke them whatever loose change i may have off an even stack, if you get what i'm saying. (if i have 8,125 to cash out, i'll tip 25 as i get up etc.)
last night it was pretty late, like 3am, and some tourist guy who kept buying in for 500 and busted a few times decides after i win a $120 pot in a blind vs blind situation to let me know in about the rudest tone possible that "You can tip the dealers once in a while." The exact statement was something like "Not to be offensive kid, but you know you can actually tip the dealer once in a while, right?"
What's odd to me about this situation is that there were some other regulars at the table who I'd played with before who follow the same tipping method I do. There were six or seven of us at the table, and three of us didn't tip per pot, so I was initially confused as to why this man seemed to target me on this particular point.
I responded with "Listen, you paddle your canoe, I'll paddle mine." to which he started epicly blowing up and telling me that dealers work for tips, he knows we don't tip in Canada (ROFL, how the fuck does he figure I'm Canadian? No idea) that I have no business being in this game if I'm not going to tip, yadda yadda etc. etc.
I'll leave the results out for now, just curious about what your play would be here?

If I was sober Id explain in a nice way that its none of his business, but also say that I actually do tip, but after the session, and that several others do the same.
If drunk, I ask him to fuck off and die probably, I always get into arguments playing live poker drunk. Last time some donk slowrolled a fish, took like ten seconds to flip up his cards after seeing that he won, and I went off at him and made him leave five minutes after -.-v |

the last time i went to a casino, my buddy wanted to play blackjack so we went in there and he was playing, and he was sitting at an awkward angle so he couldn't see the minimum bet of $2. So he put down 1 dollar, and this lady looks over and goes "if your going to sit and play here, you might as well at least play for the minimum bet"...we both got pissed. I don't understand how how much he bets, even if it is a mistake, has anything to do with the cards she gets...

like pinball my response wud vary vastly depending on how drunk i was at the time
if i was sober id explain to the guy i tip at the end and im not just being cheap.
if i was drunk id probably slurr something like "hey...u shut up, i do what the fuck i want mate" and then mumble something to the dealer about how me and him (the dealer) know the score and how that guy is prolly just drunk and doesnt understand

haha I think kid is more annoying than "son". BTW I'll just pretend I didn't listen to him and would do as usual by the end. Its not like he will even remember that in a week anyway. I'm sure there are some guys who don't even tip (or tip some shit) and if you always feel well tipping the way you do, then why bother with him?
