I am going through a fairly terrible downswing. 20k hands at 100nl fr -8 buyins and 20k hands at 50nlfr breakeven. I know variance can be + or - 2ptbb/100 over even 100k hands. I am trying to play well and look at the longterm and not the short term. Its just punishing. Besides watching videos and trying to analyze my own game, posting hands etc. I don't know what to do to make my game any better. I feel play hasn't deteriorated any for the most part. I know there have been way worse downswings than this. How do you guys cope?

Take a break for couple days. Play good. Play more hands. Repeat process. |

well just continue ure A game.
keep calm and only play when u dont feel angry or in bad mood.
I lost 2,2K on Nl100 6max on just 7 K hands some time ago ...
i simply couldnt win a hand no matter how much i got it in as a favourit.
well but somehow at one point i startet winning again
Well just try to look through the hands u lose the money and look for ways to improve
if u played the hands good and just got setups , coolers or bad beats there really is noting than to just continue playing.
Cause one thing is for sure.
As long as u have an edge u will win money in the long run always.
However 40K hands of not making money does sound like some leaks to be honest.
Analyze ure hands.
maybe ask some higher stakes players for advice on the hands. |

20 k hands -8 bis is pretty soft if you ask me but yeah if you're not tilting and feel like you play good you should keep playing until you get through. Im currently in a -22 bis downsing @ NL50 over 20k hands, not a single winning session in the last 3 weeks but im not upset since i think im playing good. |

don't worry man, i just went through a -15 bi downswing through about 12k hands at 100NL
i think it's important not to tilt/spew there
a good run will come eventually, you just have to grind it out.
review your hands where you lost big pots, and see what you could've done differently
in my downswing, i spewed/tilted about 5-7 buyins, which is a ton
since we play the same stakes and fr as well, we should chat
pm me with your aim or msn

It's a good idea during these "tough times" to not only review your big hands, but look for all the small leaks you have and spots where you've giving up too many small/medium sized pots. Like Brian Townsend says in his videos, the big hands normally play themselves and a lot of your edge comes from postflop play and picking up all those small/medium pots that no one else fights for. |
