Down 5 buyins. Every single hand, the opponent got there with 2-4 outs.

Once again, this is why trapping does not work:

One time, just don't let them get there:

PLZ don't get there? (Does anyone see a fold there somewhere?)

What if I said "plz" twice, will a station ever lose?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/hand.php?hand=525053

I didn't lose much...but seriously...wtf

There are also so many smaller hands where I put all money in good, either by betting or calling, but they hit their outs by river. And let's not forget AA vs AK hand... So annoying.

Of course, I also appreciate any comments you guys have on the hands here. If you think I misplayed something, I'd definitely want to know.

Imo:

Hand 1 (AK) is missplayed. Preflop with some history is ok as a mix up play, but not doing it will probably save you some tough situations, so I suggest dont do it or do it very little. BUT THEN the flop comes A88 and it is not 3-betted and AK is not like the nuts there and yet you decide to play it as the nuts or nothing when any 8x has you beat. I would most likely either raised the flop and continued carefully if called / made my decision there if reraised OR I would just tried to call him down all the way maybe folding river to a big bet if I knew he isnt valuebetting river thinly.

Hand 2 (22) is missplayed. Unless you had some player specific read that says "Likes to overbet-bluff river", then your hand is a little too weak to get it in on the river with pot odds this bad and your hand being quite far from the nuts.

Hand 3 (55) seems ok, preflop call is marginal at best.

Hand 4 (AJ) river call seems a bit tilty especially vs a station. But oh well, given the odds I dont mind too much.

Hand 5 (KT) bet flop stronger and bet turn rather strong.

there is a light at the end of the tunnel... (but sometimes the tunnel is long and deep as hell)Last edit: 12/09/2008 19:23

yah I came in to say, the first hand dont raise turn especially since theres no draws to worry about
I think hand 2 is marginal, but to be honest, I cant find a fold especially since I dont think that guy is a reg and random fish do play flush this way...
dont check turn on the KT hand

Thanks I appreciate the comments guys.

I don't really flat with AK that often. Just to mix it up. So you would suggest to just flat on all 3 streets in this case? The reason I don't 3bet it sometimes is that for many players it tends to fold out all hands that I dominate and have them 4bet their premiums, which forces me to make marginal decisions. Because of that I occasionally mix in a call against players who I know like to barrel because they typically barrel boards that AK hits.

yeah I agree with above. After you raise the turn what hand do you get value from?

Of course it was a good shove, I won
