Sorry to say, but from your description i can assume poker is def not for you. Just get a job, grind small stakes and when you will be at least 200nl regular you can quit your job. Other than that education should be always 1#, obv it depends on your expectations and future vision |

try not being a pussy for one thing
get yourself a job, go to school if you can/want to even if it's just classes at a community college (lol @ $750 debt? im in debt about 50k), and play poker as a hobby
if you get good and can make a decent amount then great |

dont play hu with people you've won a pot from unless they really really really suck. not worth it most of the time.
you could probably make more money than a job by grinding microstakes .
good luck. |

You can't win in poker if u play limits out of your bankroll league, you are basicly gambling instead of playing poker. You lost, never do it again. |

just learn from your mistake, i lost my roll twice (600 and 300 respectively) second time exactly like you. You still have some money left which is good unlike where I had to sport gambol with my friend to get some money on my account. Just grind out 10nl again and let this be a lesson to never never do that shit again. |

my best advice would be to not post on LP for life advice... i live in the projects and LP is the last place i would post for life advice because it's full of people who cant give any advice worth a damn outside of "go to school, poker isnt for you, get a job, etc." (keep in mind 1/2, if not more, of the people who are giving you advice are in shcool and are younger or roughly the same age as you). You're the only one that can figure out how to keep yourself from tilting... hopefully when you start hurting for food and shelter you can begin to control yourself. Just remember that you're not entitled to anything and if you want something bad enough (like being good at poker) you'll have to work at it. So dont bitch and whine and post here for "life advice." Get focused and get your ass in gear and make some fucking money, 25NL isnt cutting it. Sorry to be harsh but you're asking the wrong people to give you advice, and you're the only one that can keep you from tilting//work hard enough to make money at playing poker. dont play for a couple of days, then restart and work your ass off to get better (if you cant do this than go live under a bridge in a cardboard box because getting better at poker is much better/less stressful than having to grind a normal job knowing that you'll never go anywhere doing it)

One solid advice: don't take poker as the only purpose of your life/income you'll be disapointed. Find other ways to earn money i.e get a job, poker is ultra stressful if it's only your only source of income and if you can't take the pression then this game's not for you. |

hey man, don't be down on yourself. We've all had moments where we lose control and burn through a lot of money. At worst, take this whole thing as an expensive lesson on the destructive nature of pride, and you will exert better self-control in similar situations in the future.
Now on the bright side, you are young and you sound like an intelligent person; and for a young, intelligent man, this world is definitely your playground and as cheesy as this will sound, you can do anything and everything. Just keep in mind that there's no free lunch, and that things that appear to be an easy way out like playing online poker, still require hard work and dedication to succeed like everything else in life. There are no shortcuts.
Poker is a great game and it will always be here. You need to ask yourself the hard questions and be absolutely honest with yourself. What is best for me at this stage of my life? What are my long-term goals? You're a smart guy and you'll definitely figure out the answers to these questions whether it be now or 2 years from now.
In the meantime, take care of yourself.
Cheers mate. |

we all do retarded things. Don't ever play outside of your bankroll its the stupidest thing you can do and i know firsthand from personal experience. Start grinding again for fun, get a job, get a membership to CR, work on your game, then ull be fine agian in no time. |

Get a job and go to school. If you need money for school then get a student loan. Stop making excuses for yourself and take action. Poker isn't something you should be dependent on until you're a very successful regular at around 200NL and even then it's a risk to make the job. You obviously have some emotional issues to work out as well and if you're as big a shut in as you seem to say you are you might also want to look into therapy or group therapy or something along those lines. |
