What do you think? McCain was obviously as always a bloody monkey. Dont think i have to explain myself on that one. Obama tho, to be honest, extremely dissapointing. Somewhere midway campaign i did claim that both candidates were idiots, its just that McCain was simply unacceptable. But then Obama started coming through and i started to a bit believe that he was indeed special. Still hope that he is and his weak performance in debate was just a fluke. I cant believe how he was completely unprepared to rebuttal McCain's personal attacks, really, was he expecting McCain to actually talk about economics and foreign policy.

At least we all know whatll happen in Biden-Palin debate. Poor woman.

EDIT: Oh i jumped the gun there a bit. No we dont exactly know. Theres still the question of whether Sarah will be able to answer a single question straight in this campaign.

I only watched the Foreign policy part, and i think McCain said a lot of bs, was agressive and seemed to lack confidence moreover he was very nervous. Nevertheless he scored a good point about the surge in Iraq.
On the other hand Obama was way more confident and seemed to have iron nerves and a lot of self-control. And except for the surge he was right on everything.

And lol at Mc Cain when he said " OMG Obama is crazy he wants to clean the Pakistan border ".
Dumbass it happens already almost everyday.

well thats true but im just shocked how unprepared Obama was for McCains personal attacks. Everybody knew they were coming. There were so many easily exploitable holes in McCains accusations, but Obama never took advantage of them just repeating "Thats not true thats not true" as if he was shocked to hear them. It just raises great doubt as to Obamas great speaker abilities, which seem to be more of speechwriting abilities. And who aint got those.

Yea Obama was maybe too soft. But i guess he wouldnt start a stupid flame war over the retarded accusations of McCain.
A good president must have self-control imo. And Obama has proved that he is really immune to stress and anger.

Obama did a pretty good job. He tore it up when it came to the economic issues which were the first 30-40 minutes or so of the debate. Obama was not expected to shine when it came to the Foreign Policy stuff but he did manage to hold his own with McCain and not get run over. I think he did what he had to do to get through this debate and we'll see better from him before it's all said and done.

I thought they were pretty even. McCain exceeded my expectations and Obama disappointed.

as i listened to the debates i adopted an attitude like i would if i were listening to a popularity contest - and of course that's exactly what these debates really are. it's not at all a show of credentials, and in a 90 minute segment or whatever, probably never could be. still, that these debates strong influence who'll be the next US pres. is remarkable since they have so little meaningful content

to elaborate my point on comebacks id like to point out the most obvious one: Pakistan. If you recon a week ago Palin in an interview said that if she were to become president she would authorize surgical strikes against terrorist cells on Pakistan territory. A simple "But John, i dont know whats going on with your campaign, i thought we were on the same page on this issue seeing as your VP shares my position."; except in a fancy way appealing to simple folks; would suffice. Of course i dont think its a prerequisite for VP to share nominee's ideas, but that makes voting kind of a chess match doesnt it? "Hmm i dont want Pakistan attacked... Unless! McCain dies!"

Nail on the coffin imo.

And as to who won the debates i think McCain did. Analysts say Obama did(thus far), but i disagree. Yes he perhaps was the better of the two, but its not about who I think was better, or those analysts did. All the smart folk, mind the ultra rich with no soul and prejudiced ones are already on Obamas side. Its those medium-brained, undecided that the debate performance has to win over. And i think McCain was the one appealing to them. Those folks sure can count, but they need a calculator first, and i dont think they had one handy while watching TV. 18 billion, 300 billion, 700 billion, all sounds equally scary to them. And John was the one exploiting it to the maximum LEVL!

I understand that. And thats why im not saying something that makes more sense, such as comparing Iraq war to conducting military operations in Pakistan. However the key is rather simple, retort personal attacks with personal attacks.

A black senator can't win (yet) imho and even if he does he'll be assassinated

Odds are exactly 50%, either happens or it doesnt

bingo

I watched the foreign policy segment and it became quite obvious that these debates have little substance to them. The real politics are done behind closed curtains with decisions being made regardless of American people. These events are pretty much just for the lulz.
