Honestly I feel like it's pretty messed up to automatically dismiss his endorsement cause they are both black. Powell is a Republican with a very impressive record and a well respected leader in America. I think he made a great case for supporting Obama and race wasn't anywhere in there.

Powell is a weird figure, cause before he did that I had nothing but respect for him. In the end he ended up fighting bush on a lot of iraq stuff and ended up quitting cause he couldn't take the BS anymore. I get the feeling that he went to the UN to give that presentation cause he thought that it was the right thing to do and they had legit intelligence. Using powell to give the presentation gave it more credibility. I think he was pretty unhappy when it became clear that he was used to peddle lies.

So yeah, he's got bad shit in his past but I do feel like he got some redemption by standing up to bush and eventually saying "fuck this" and quitting.
