Well, as you can see, i have very few posts here so you don't know me. Let me introduce myself to you - I am 19 y.o. from Bulgaria. My name is Nikola and this is the first blog i make so it is kinda new experience to me and hope there are people that read this . I started playing poker just a year ago and have never looked back . For the past several months I have played only SnGs and MTTs and have abandoned the cash games cause of various reasons. I prefer cash live, so if i decide to play cash it wouldn't be online... So... i have specialised exclusively on sit`and`go`s and have moved from 3+30EU in Boss Media to 20+2 (have played stg like 6-7 sngs already and getting unlucky, but steal about breaking even) , but I mainly play 10+1 cause there r just not enough people playing on the 20+2. That sux big! Yesterday night there were 11K people on Boss Media which is the biggest nmbr of ppl i have seen online there at once. And still, I waited for it to begin for more than an hour and a half :O.
For now, i am crushing the 10+1 sngs, really just killing the fish! I`ve read some articles on sng stats and the ROI stuff and they all say that generally a 15% ROI is great. To me, playing 9 10+1sngs and being up 10euros is as great as getting fuc*ed in the ass! And i am no gay! I just can't see how this % ROI can be considered great, probably they meant the much higher buy-in SnGs. Ppl on 10+1 and 20+2EU sngs are soo weak. Callin allin with A-high or a gutshot+a backdoor flush draw is something I see every day. Many ppl just don't know what beats what (not literally but still stg close to that). I've seen ppl calling allin with T-high, no draws on, the flop. However, there are players that kinda know how to preserve their chips at the beginning and I wait for the big later-stages-mistakes when i think i am very good at. I don't use tracking programs like PokerOffice/tracker or Holdem Manager cause i think they r not supported by Boss Media and i am kinda lazy and feel good on my own. I am currently typing this blog from my work. I work in an insurance company and it's been 2 weeks since i started. The job is pretty boring and the salary sux. Ahhh, the boss just entered the office, signing off . see ya

I think this while it may sound hard to absorb is pretty much the truth with a lot of players who seem to come to this site and disappear after a few months or less.

Play properly bankrolled and ask as much questions as possible, never get complacent and remember to not be results orientated also means that when you're a 'winning player' you can be doing the wrong things and when you're a 'losing player' you can be doing the right things etc.

Don't just look over the big pot and try to stay objective...

Anyway good luck and hope you're successful

muckv - i have an iq of 180 and i want someone to teach me how to take a shit IN the toilet.

The thing about sng's is that you can easily play many at the same time and they are very easy to learn...Thus a roi of 15% is indeed good, even at the 10$ level.
You just haven't hit your first downswing yet...
(believe me...even if you think you've hit it...you haven't)

but gl to ya man

I've had several (4-5) very bad runs, when i thought it can't be real. Every single coinflip lost, every overpair cracked and so on, you know how it's like. I know i sound like someone who's hit a hot run and is excited but i've passed that phase. About the ROI- 15% is good for this level, of course... but 'great' is a lil bit too strong of a word.. just an opinion. In the biggest levels in the biggest sites with the biggest sharks a ROI of 6% is considered great. So lvl definitely matters big time. And so does the site. FX, in PS i guess much better plrs are playing so 15% would very nice but at the same time you would be able to multitable there. In Boss, u can't multitable too much, just too few ppl playing the sngs...
And another thing - i am new the site but that doesn't mean i am a newbie.. right? Thanx, guys for the feedback, i will post my wins losses, ups and downs here.
And yeah, BG chicks are very hot, but are kinda whore-ised so to speak :D.

Today, i went out with some buddies after work so i didn't have much time to play. However, i managed to play several sngs, while watching Big Brother 4 and the results are good but could've been even better - two 20+2EU sngs and one 10+1 sng. I busted in 5th place on the 10+1 and cashed in the other two - one 3rd and one 2nd place. That makes it +50 euros in an hour, which is cool. The third place was a coinflip loss 88 vs AQo, turn A and from chipleader I went to half a BB . The second place finish was very unfortunate cause i had him allin with 2 to 1 chiplead, huge blinds, preflop with stg like Q7 vs 48 and he won with a 4 on the turn and then turned things around . 40 euros less ahhh, they woulda been tasty. Now my record on the 20+2 is 3 cashes - one 1st, one 2nd and one 3rd place. I still think, there is little difference in the lvl of players on 10+1 20+2. There r even several guys playing both, like me, cause of the lack of traffic but most are more like "i am sick of cash, wanna play a sng"=tourists . The good news is that i am making a good start and my confidence is up which is always good when you move up the limits. If it wasn't for the damn job i would've had enough time for poker. What would've you done in my place - quit? advice pls... I have strong believes quitting is ++++EV but how can i tell my parents i quit just after a month of working...

Don't quit work...

seriously...do not...quit work...

You're having great results right now, and that's great for you...
but you will also have not so great results, and then you'll have fucking horrible results, and then after that, you'll have so horrible results you didn't even know it was possible.
I'm not trying to sound like a jerk...but you've not had 4-5 "very bad runs".
A "very bad run" imo is -1000$ playing only 20$SNG's in 2 days.

However, if you've had 4-5 runs like that, and lived through it, and still have a BR...
then sure, go ahead and grind it out

btw.
What's your BR?

Eh, Look your well being in general doesn't actually matter to me until I get to know you and since that will never happen I'm not sure why I'm even bothering with the following:

Do not quit work to try and make a living from poker, just don't do it... I know you may think I'm just assuming you're a 'beginner' or w/e but the truth is you probably are.

You need LARGE bankroll, and a even LARGER sample of hands/tournaments and god knows you have no idea what this game can do to you so for your sake I recommend taking it slow and not letting your inspirations take over reality.

However, if you do think quitting work and relying on poker is a good idea please move your roll to Full TIlt or PokerStars.

. Well, you see, job salaries in BG are sooo small that there is no way i am making less than the average salary, just that's too small sum of money. So, actually even if i fail to make a living, it is like i am working for the smallest possible salary. So, realistically, i can't be a big loser out of this whole situation imo. Now, about the big downswin issue.. i don't really think that one has to lose almost his entire bankroll to be ready to go pro. I have a very good BR management, and my biggest downswing was losing 1/2 my BR but i managed to go out of that shit in some months. But that was while i played cash and didn't really follow BR management rules. Thanx for the comments, even though i think some of them are not right about some things. Hope i can prove some of you wrong on some points. gl

Yesterday i found this in sharkscope, but there is stg strange about the dollars cause i play in euros and it seems that stg is fked up in there exchange system so i am not sure if the sums are exactly the same. It also says my Av. ROI is 20% which is prbly true because as u see at the beginning i lacked discipline and skill and was just playing for the fun until a month and something ago when i sat on my ass seriously. Don't know which point of the graph that is, maybe 390game
