Man I'm busy as all hell today so I'm just throwing this up quickly. So the news that they've spent $150,000 on Palin's wardrobe reminded me that she was part of the race. Add in the fact that the #1 concern people have about McCain right now is whether Palin is qualified to be president, and her numerous scandals and instances of wasting government money despite claiming she's going to cut waste, and she becomes an even bigger issue. But to top it all off, she still doesn't get what it is that the vice president does:
A vote for McCain is basically a vote for Palin to run this country, cause chances are McCain won't survive his first term. That's scary to me. Very scary.

Without having read the article about the 150k on clothes, I would assume the big deal is that McCain/Palin are supposed to be fiscal conservatives. You know, cut waste and all that other propaganda, yet here they are being very wasteful on something as insignificant as wardrobe. If they're wasting this much money on clothes, how much will they waste when running the government?
what about his medical history makes you so certain he will die within 4 years, because if you're that sure he should probably know

mccain is wealthy and can afford best health care the world has to offer, not to mention he will be president so he wont even get undercooked meat EVER. its like living in a bubble of safety....obama has to worry about radical rednecks assassinating him.

Actually I agree that it was a necessity for them to get her clothing, but I think 150k in clothes is absolutely insane. My GF looks just as well dressed and we spent about $200 on clothes in the last 2 months compared to Palin's 150k. I also think it is ridiculous to be running around tooting "hockey mom" and "joe sixpack" while wearing a $5,000 coat and so on.

You're right, I'm being a bit unfair. I am talking more from gut than fact, but the lack of fact is due to McCain's refusal to really release his medical history. To me he looks old, often confused, and like he's not doing so well. He's had 2 bouts of melanoma (skin cancer). When he released his medical records it was in a VERY suspicious, shady way - he gave a handful of reporters a few hours to go over 1,000 pages of medical records in a locked room where they were not allowed to bring any electronics (so no pictures or notes on laptops or anything), and no photocopies. Why the hell would they do so much secrecy if he was in perfect health? you'd think they'd want to post copies of his medical records on the walls of their campaign offices to erase any doubts.
Add to that a large amount of doctors who are concerned when they hear the little info offered about McCain's medical history and I get nervous:

yea i guess i think she should get some leeway since its one of the most powerful positions in the world so 150k shouldnt be thought of in everyday terms but more compared to how much the republicans are spending on TV ads and so on... all about spending money on getting more votes and if shes dressed nice subconsciously a lot more people may vote for her thinking she is tidy and clean
