Finally!

It feels good to achieve goals. I remember when I first read about supernova and thought "that would be nice but will never happen" since I was just fucking around on NL5/NL10. Then when I got to NL100 in January this year I said "holy shit I could get supernova this year!" and set it as a goal. I had to drop down to NL50 and at points NL25 and I started thinking that I might not make it, or that I might be mega grinding December to get enough hands. But I got back to NL100 and have hit it right when I expected to, by mid-month of November!

Hello to super fast FPP! Now I gotta decide whether to get the $650 bonus or wait and get the $1,500 bonus. Obviously it's more worthwhile to get the bigger bonus but it also means a longer wait, and I'm pretty broke right now. The only money I cash out from poker is the bonus money cause that's how my long term coaching goes with sakisaki. I'm still 13,000 FPP away from the $650 and 63,000 FPP away from the $1,500. I figure I can buy the $650 by the end of this month, and then clear it in the beginning of December. If I waited for the $1,500 I'd probably not buy it till the end of December or early January, and then it would take longer to clear.

Mmm, after writing all of that out I think it makes more sense to get the $650 for now. When I'm up @ NL200 the $1,500 will make more sense cause I will clear it faster and rack up FPP faster.

I've also had a semi-heaterish weekend. Actually I think I basically just ran normal but I'm so used to running like shit that this feels like a heater! Check it out:

It's nice for poker to go well again =) I've run horrible lately but thanks to good coaching I've dealt with it well. Let's hope things keep going well! Of course they won't, which is how poker goes, but I can hope.

dude, just concierge

thats like one of the biggest perks of supernova IMO

I buy shit all the time so just send in the receipt and its basically the same as cash except the rate is much better and you dont have to clear anything.

Gahhh, now I'm confused.

I hear the long term EV here, but literally I'm really low on money and since I can't cash out any of my BR this is my only way to get any extra cash. Once I'm doing poker full time I'll definitely be going for the bigger bonuses. Right now I work part time and it's just barely enough to cover me every month. I gotta get some extra income here, especially with the holidays coming up.

Congrats on getting Nova! You definitely earned it imo.

And I also agree with DooMeR about the bonuses, but I guess you can make an exception in the short term if you really need the money now.

Btw TenBagger if that's how the concierge works then I am definitely going to try getting Nova asaply starting January 1

Ok, using that VPP calculator I got these numbers

If I play 8 tables avg and 2 hours a day avg, I'll make 40k FPP a month. Considering that I have to work a job and spend time with my GF so I don't play every day, that works out to be about right. Last month I only got 45 hours logged and since I tend to play btwn 4 - 12 tables I figure the 8 table avg works out right. So I'm looking at nearly 2 months to hit 100k to buy the $1,500 bonus, and what, over 5 months to make the 250k FPP to buy the $4,000 bonus.

Once I get up to NL200 I'll definitely wait for the $1,500 bonuses if not the $4,000 ones. But for now it's way too long of a wait imo.

Also tenbagger are you joking about the concierge? I always thought that looked like a waste. Though I'm not sure wtf it does.

btw my coach is sakisaki (someone asked ^^)

K2o4, you can use the concierge for anything over $500 (31,000 fpps). Just email them your receipt. You can also pool receipts together to make it $500. There are a couple restrictions to what they will reimburse you for. For example, you cant pay your taxes or some bills using concierge.

But you can always buy something, send a copy of the receipt and then return it.

PS. How many tables do you play?

short term is more important than long term in this case, take the money now as thanks for getting to supernova and since you need some money then work towards higher ones. Doomer's advice only applies once you already have all those financial things sorted out

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

Holy shit that's cool. So I send them the receipt and then they put that money in my poker account? how does that part work?

You email them a copy of the receipt. They review it and within a week, deduct your fpps and credit your account accordingly.

If you have other questions, Stars support got back with me shortly after each email i sent regarding concierge.
