Actually not really my first, but it's my first since I started playing online (So far I've played about 75k hands and I'm at 25NL now.)
Wow. These people SUCK.
min raise min raise min raise, 2nd pair = nuts, nobody even looks at their kicker apparently. At one point, someone called off most of his stack with just A high. He didn't bet, he didn't make any attempt to bluff he just kept calling with nothing. Later, another guy had lost his whole stack except for just 6 chips, and was seriously debating folding his big blind of 2 chips. Gah.
I think maybe I shouldn't play with these guys anymore. They're friends of mine, I don't want to take their money (although I didn't win, I got second after a guy rivered a set and then a flush in back to back hands).
How do you guys handle this? I'm sure you've had this problem, if you play online constantly, and your friends want to play a casual game for low stakes. Do you play, or not? If you do, do you try to play well, or do you just throw your money around like they do?

I had the same shit happen to me. First, I hate the slow pace of live. I hate playing good poker live cause it's so boring. So I usually decide that I'm gonna drink and have a good time when playing with my friends in home games. The one thing that sux is that people go "oooh big online player" and then if u lose you get grief, but I spend the entire time telling em I suck anyway so it works out. |

Don't stop winning their money, just use it to buy the table a couple pizza's with the winnings. Should help the guilt go away. |

Yeah I think I'll do what k2o4 suggests and just get really drunk. Then I can make all the plays that I WANT to do online but I know I shouldn't, like chasing gutshots and making huge bluffs, and maybe get that stupidity out of my system. |

oh yeah, and a small brag: There was a hot girl who came with me to play. She had never played before, and she didn't even know the rules before I taught her. She actually played pretty well (she played tight, like I told her, which was all that was needed to clean up at that game) and she ended up getting 3rd after some bad beats. |

The key is, never play for money that matters, and don't like an asshole.
We play $20 deepstack sng style tourneys, I win about 80% of them. I don't act like I know more about poker, I just have fun with my friends, and then I make sure that I always buy the next weeks booze with 60% or so of my winnings (Johnny Gold last time) |
