A "November" post cause, well, actually, it was a good month despite the failed NL200 shot at the end. It was my biggest winning month in a long while, especially when you factor in the bonuses. I cleared and cashed out a $650 bonus that just arrived today, plus I bought another $650 and am halfway to clearing it and should be cashing it out by the end of this week. I made supernova for the first time ever and that is a big part of why I was able to get that second $650 bonus so quickly. I also bought 2 poker books from the store which will make nice holiday reading. I stopped reading poker books about 6 months ago and I'd like to get back into reading em again, even if they are mostly worthless. There's usually at least 1 or 2 good bits of advice in there and it gives me another way to keep my mind on poker without actually playing.
58k hands, wow, that's a huge month for me! Awesome
This is in dollars so it's a bit skewed cause of the different limits
This is in big blinds so it gives a better view of how I played overall
I ended the month with a NL200 shot that started off well and ended in a painful crash. I started @ $4,000 and dropped to $3,600, then rebounded and hit $5,000. At that point I owed my coach a payment (we're on a long term profit sharing thing and I'd hit a benchmark... it works out great cause I've definitely gotten lots of value out of the coaching and I honestly think I would pay a lot more for this level of time and skill being dedicated to helping me improve without this deal).
The payment was 1k which dropped me back to $4,000. I went to try and get back to $5,000 again and hit a downswing and let myself tilt a bit. Suddenly I'd lost 7 buyins @ NL200 and was down to $2,600. I moved back to NL100 and managed to keep losing down to $2,300. I played a monster Saturday night session in an attempt to recover and peaked @ 9 buyins, and then got coolered to hell and lost it all to break even for the night. Then sunday I won 3 buyins and decided to take a break for a few days and am sitting @ $2,600.
I'm happy though because for the first time in my life I played NL200 and felt comfortable there. I don't think that I'd "crush it" just yet, but I think I can make a small profit there right now at my skill level. And once I get solidly rolled for NL200 and keep getting coaching from sakisaki, I'm sure I will crush it.
For now the plan is to relax from poker untill tomorrow (wednesday) and then start regrinding. When I hit 4k again I'll take another shot with a 5 BI stop loss and I won't go over it this time! And I'll just keep doing that over and over again until I skyrocket into NL200, which I'm sure will happen soon enough. And of course, if things go bad I will drop back to NL50 and regrind it all over again. I've been through this so many times now that it feels like another case of the SSDD (same shit, different day). Thank god for supernova and bonuses which allow me to make money by breaking even, muahhahaha!

I don't think your winrate/bankroll size is big enough to take shots at $200nl at $4k tbh, stick to $100nl until you actually have a high winrate (8+) or big enough bankroll |

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time | |

8? are you serious? 8 isn't a very realistic # for the long term - it's doable but 8 is on the high end. I can grab a sample where I run at 8 but in the long run I'm happy to have 4. |
