Well it started last night with 1 bad session that I quit quickly and lost a little less than 1 BI. Then it really got going today with a coaching session in the morning, a break evenish session in the afternoon and a nice win in the evening. 3 session days r thx. Also excited to clear this $650 bonus especially now that echecks are back! So it won't be a 2 week wait once I cash out this time. That will be nice.

Excited to get back to 4k and take another NL200 shot. And this time I'm not going to tilt. Fuck that shit!

I'm sitting at $3,350 so I'm 6.5 buyins shy of another shot. Maybe this weekend will be a good one!

imo focusing so much on buyins and shit is a bad way to do it.

I was always told by very good players to play a limit until you crush it, then move up when you have adequate buyins. I would never go to a limit with 20 buyins "hoping to not tilt" this time. You are setting yourself up for failure, if not at 200 nl, then the next time you try to move up.

My advice is to just play more hands, build a bigger bankroll, crush people, then move up with way more confidence and a bigger bankroll and the idea that you will never move back down because of bankroll issues. Having to move down limits is crushing mentally and can have such a huge cost on some people that the money they lose from losing the confidence to play makes the decision to move up quickly soooo EV - .

Just play a ton of hands for a few weeks. 100 nl / 200 nl who gives a fuck its all the same just play good poker and don't be thinking about your BR all the time.

If I were you, I would build a bankroll to like $10,000 playing 100 nl and crushing fools, then play 200 nl with 50 buyins, and hopefully with the ability to have a higher winrate with more experience/confidence which would greatly reduce your variance.

I'm a 4.6k atm. Not really sure if I want to move up to nl200 once I reached 5k, but I would very much like to. But I hardly know any of the players so that is kind of fucked up. How was your experiance at nl200? Does it differ a lot from nl100?

i would fail for a long time when taking shots at 1/2, i finally succeeded when I hit 9000$ playing .5/1 and then skyrocketed from 1/2 to 5/10 and hit a wall again....

either way unless you really crush the actual limit, moving up at 20 buy ins is a bit reckless

Im not sure what to do tomorrow when I see her, should I shake her hand?? -Floofy

Not hoping - promising myself not to tilt stupidly like I did this last time. =)

I understand what you're saying. That has been my view in the past. But right now I have a huge amount of confidence in NL100 and my ability to play NL200, plus great coaching support in case of hard times, so I'm not worried about the things that concern you. Moving back down after this last shot wasn't at all soul crushing. I'm very happy about everything to do with my shot except for 1 session where I played too long while running bad which caused me to spew a bit. When I move up I tend to spend a lot of time back and forth btwn the new limit and the old limit till I'm solidly into the new one. I'm used to it and my soul is totally fine with that style of moving up =)

I hear ya. That's similar to my plan for how to approach NL200 before moving up to NL400. But I've been playing NL100 for long time now (173k hands) and winning for a long time too. My confidence is at its highest and I'm playing at such a higher skill level than I ever have before, and NL200 felt a little harder in the sense that it's harder to find soft tables but no huge change in skill, so I'm very confident in being able to beat it. Once I get to NL200 I'll aim to be there for around 100k hands and move up to NL400 with a 40-50 BI roll. I understand your reasons but for this move up they don't fit, though I think they will be valid for me moving from NL200 to NL400.

more squeezing / 3betting and harder to find soft tables. otherwise pretty similar.
