I didn't get sucked out on while playing NL200.........

WTF!?!?!?!?

PIGS MUST BE FLYING AND HELL HAS GOT TO BE FROZEN!!!

So I started my final session of the day and was surprised to see a bunch of super loose tables on a Monday night..?? I knowwww.

Jumped on a bunch of NL100 tables and things were finally going my way for once. I figured I better ride this rush to the fullest and hunted down the 4 loosest NL200 tables I could find. Closed down a bunch of NL100 tables and kept the loosest ones there and played 8 tables, 4 on each limit. Was getting a lot of cards but not too much action. Then the card rush slowed down for a while and I was getting ready to leave when I hit a few hands and they all held up (KK vs QQ and so on). Usually when I get it in as a favorite on NL200 I end up losing, so this was a fucking awesome change of pace.

Won about 2 buyins at each limit for $600 profit. I'd already taken 3 BI @ NL100 during my other sessions for the day so this turned into a $900 day. Finally! That puts me above 4k for the first time since my thanksgiving NL200 shot where I hit 5k.

Todays results:

So going forward I'm gonna keep playing NL100 whenever I set down but now that I'm over 4k I will play NL200 if I feel good and see juicy tables OR if I'm doing a sweat session with my coach.

I've also put together a new schedule for myself which I started today. I'm working 2 days a week and playing poker 3 days a week. Got coaching sessions on as many days possible and have blocked out time for poker sessions every day. But I also have blocked out time to spend with my GF, exercise and to work on other projects. It's giving me balance that I haven't had in a long time, plus it gives me structure and an opportunity to be disciplined. The more disciplined I am in my daily life the easier it will be to maintain that discipline while playing poker, which is really important.

So overall life is good. Just gonna keep grinding it out till I'm a NL200 reg. I know it's gonna happen and who knows, it might be soon ^^

sakisaki and we have a long term deal worked out. I think he does 1 hour coaching sessions for people. At least he was doing that a while ago, not sure if he still does.

I wouldn't feel confident with a 4k br on nl200.

Also from what i've experianced from nl200 (so far almost 40k hands) its a little similar to nl100 and not worth taking shots. Just wait for a big enough br and move up.

imo if you experiance variance you should be a bit more BR nitty. i dont think poker is about moving up as fast as possible. i really really would recommend waiting for a 6k roll to mix in nl200 tables. but i guess you have sakisaki as a coach so im probably just talking crap.

Addressing this, he built his roll from .01/.02 all the way to this point over a 2 year period. During that time he developed BR management that worked for him and has never went broke. He thought he was playing well, saw an opportunity, and probably had a stop loss in place. When you wanna move up taking shots when you feel good and have the ability to stop if it goes poor will really help the process. Anyway GJ Brett.

I dont remember anything from last night. all i know is, is that i woke up naked on my couch, with a piece of uncooked chicken on the stove. -Josh McLeodLast edit: 06/01/2009 08:39

Didn't we all start on these tables? Ok i started on .02/.05 but it doesnt make that much difference. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't mind moving down limits once he loses some. Sure he won't go broke, but I think he would do better on nl200 if he had more room to get to know the players and play without a little scared money. It sux to get to know the players, build dynamics with them and have to move down.

<3 gororok. I know you mean well and I'd have to say that as a rule of thumb I agree with you. That's actually exactly what I did about a year ago when I first tried to move up to NL200. But like cooperstown said, I've been developing BR management strats for a while now and am confident in how I'm doing it. Everyone experiences variance, the question is how you emotionally deal with variance on a short BR. I'm ok with doing 2 BI shots on a 20 BI BR. Plus, I'm not planning to move up or anything. Most likely I'm gonna do NL100 through the rest of the week and by friday hopefully be over 5k, and then the NL200 tables will be juicy and I might try a few more tables there. And yeah, I've talked it all over with sakisaki. As part of the long term deal I run these types of things by him since he gets paid based on getting a % of my winnings, so he's invested in making sure I'm not busting my BR =)

thanks everyone else for the support. And things are going well with the GF =)

i'm turning into a bit of a br nit since days on nl200 can be very swingy. some days u end up 1,5k, or like today i lost 1,2k in 1,1k hands

nothing wrong with being a BR nit =) I'm planning to be a big BR nit once I get into NL200. Like I wanna have at least 50 BI before I feel like I'm a real reg there.
