I've noticed that I get a weird sort of tilt going on when I'm winning. Not so much winning in a session, but when I've had several winning sessions in a row. I play a bit more apathetically, sometimes cautiously, but overall not as sharp. I also lose my drive. While losing I either get super driven to recover, or deeply discouraged and titly and angry. When I've been winning a lot I slack off and have less desire to play.
I think it happens because of a fear of losing. Things are going well and I am protecting my profits. I don't want to drop back down after finally recovering. This is especially bad right before reaching a goal. For example right now my big goal is to hit 6k. That has been a goal forever. But the closer I get the less I want to play. I get a weird feeling in my gut, kind of like butterflies but also kind of like someone is grabbing my guts and wringing them. I think this stems from the same fear of loss, fear of failure.
Weird. I've done a great job of learning how to deal with the more destructive forms of tilt - monkey tilt, robot tilt, downswing tilt - but this one I still have to work on. Hopefully now that I've recognized it and been honest with myself about what's going on, I will be able to deal with it. I need to teach myself that the risk is worth the reward, and that I will enjoy playing, cause I do. I have to remember that it's all about the long term and bankrolls fluctuate and are never at the same number for long, they always go up or down, but mine is more likely to go up cause I am a good player. So accept the fluctuations and have faith in the long term results and don't be affected.
I also need to set less goals. They are such a fuck up while playing poker since so much is out of our control.

quit making poker goals that are objective... subjective is the way to go ex.. "i wanna get to 6k" objective , "i wanna beat 200NL" subjective..
making objective goals in a game where u can only play competitively if u take the money aspect out of the equation is dumb. When u get close to ur goal u start thinking about the amount of money u have and not just relaxing using chips playing the game.. |

hmm sometimes i just get up at 10 am, and tell myself to play from 12pm to 5pm. whatever the outcome. (unless i drop like a bitch and start monkey tilting). in 5 hours time you really can put in some hands :D |

Just remember why you started playing to begin with, you probably started because you enjoyed it not because you wanted to me $2k in a week. Obviously winning is fun as is learning, but sometime you gotta get back to why you started and forget that it can be a fucking grind. |

that's really good advice, though my main reason was never fun. But yeah, gotta remember WHY you're doing it and what the long term result is that you're after. focusing on the bigger picture is a huge motivator |

I have the exact same problem, when im getting near a goal or had a super good run I start to loose my A game and drop like 10 buyins.
I just dont focus on goals anymore, just trying to play my A game and play as much as possible. |

the good thing is that I have restricted my play cause I knew I was having this tilt and therefore haven't had an opportunity to tilt spew it off, so that was good. But it would be better to get rid of the feeling and keep grinding like a mad man! |

When I tell myself I'm down just a little bit, I seem to concentrate well and such. IE today I was up 4bi but I got stacked early in my session, I would just think to myself, "I'm down just a little bit, just gonna grind a bit longer today". I'm going to experiment with this more |
