My boss started quoting Rush Limbaugh yesterday when he defended the right of the auto makers using corporate jets to travel to their hearings recently. Obviously it's my boss so I cant talk back, especially if he's already lowered himself to the point of listening to Rush Limbaugh (what would be the point?), what these people fail to realize is that the automaker's choice of travel is being PAID FOR BY US. They have demonstrated an inability to manage a business and develop a product, and an inability to properly manage their finances, and a 20 million dollar jet is a good example of that. I dont care of Obama flies everywhere on a jet, hes the fucking president and has important shit to take care, he needs to get there fast and without making 5 hour pitstops half way through the country to refuel. The automakers dont.

Bill gates can ride around in a private jet all he wants, because his ability to pay for that jet is only afforded to him when I buy his product, from choice. But now i am being forced to pay for GM's airfare, so fuck that shit. Im not saying they have to drive themselves cross country in a 98 Jeep Cherokee, but there is a legitimate gripe to them flying around in private jets that goes beyond the impropriety of it all.

its alluding to the execs having to sit before congress and explain and apologize for using a private jet instead of hybrids, etc. in the go green movement and our economic downturn. even though the biggest problem is congress, itself.

I found it particularly funny because I watch Jon Stewart, maybe I should have posted the accompanying clip in the blog.

He had a whole bit called "American Grandstanding" with all the members of congress arguing over how the bailout was being spent and included this guy who asks all the spenders who come in front of congress about their private jets, it was pretty funny.
