I'm really debating if its not worth it for me to drop down to nl2...get a br for nl10 and try it....i run SO bad at NL5 its not even funny...im 7k hands in at 2BB/100...i keep getting it in ahead and shinanigans happens....I'm pretty much 100 percent sure its mostly just coolers and suckouts...but the amount of mass table grinding that happens at that level makes it tough to get money cuz everyone is micro-nitting...So when i get in a hand with something....someone else almost always has a decent hand...and i cant hit to save my life...and every time i get in a pot with a fish...retardedness happens....Sry bout the vent session...luckily i'm not down at the limit, actually up a lil, but still...i've been fluxuating between up 15 and 20 bucks for 2 days...and im just like...argh....the hand that really got me just donkey nuts and pissed at the limit was i had KK and got reraised so i called...hit my set with K42...shove he calls....flips over aces...turn 5 river 3 gg set of kings...i about broke everything in site (which would have been sad cuz that would have included my nice new compy and my guitar ) ...so yeah...just venting...any advice on what to due on a ....dry streak to say the least...

NL5 was waaaaay more profitable for me than nl2. Breaking even for only 2 days = my dream. Just put in the hands/table select/profit.

i would try to play at all stakes and learn something. if you're not winning, then you either need to play more hands or analyze why you're not winning.

besides 2bb/100 isn't that bad considering you prob. didn't put in that many hands. I ran at like -5ptbb/100 (negative) for like 10k hands at nl50. Just keep chugging and you'll do well in the future.

2BB/100 is great wtf

unless you mean 2 big blinds which is still ok

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.

the thing about going up in the stakes is not about the bankroll, its about the experience, its futile to try to amass enough BR for NL 10, because when you take a shot at NL 10 you'll fail more miserably than NL 5. Fix your leaks on NL 5.

i'm just starting with NL5, NL2 is just too crappy, too little money to be made.

NL5 does seem a lot more aggressive, players try to fuck around with the pot more. Sometimes you just have to stand your ground, isolate and destroy the fish

this is such misinformation. you're just plain wrong. and i think playing 250bbs deep at nl2 can be somewhat educational and teach you straightaway to be a bit careful in certain spots. anyone who wants to make it at any higher limits should definitely spend some time there.

yeah fuck this microstakes shit with all those nits who always have a hand and all those fish who never respect your raises! Just take your entire BR and sit down at whatever tables max buyin is closest to your BR size and start shoving, cause then they will respect your aggression and the nits will play worse hands!

on a serious note, other people in this thread already said most of the key stuff. NL5 is the same as NL2. NL5 is insanely easy and if you're having trouble it's because you suck and have a lot left to learn.

The main difference between 2NL and 5NL is the amount of "superfishes". Where you can easily get a few tables with average players to flop of 60%+, at 5NL that's a hard to find (tho 40%+ is easy to find) and at 10NL it's only the tables that just started that have those kind of stats. The biggest fishes are on 2NL and 5NL just has a bit less fishy players, tho there are more than enough left . I wouldnt say there's no money to be made on 2NL, your bb/100 is probably a lot higher there because of the players just giving away their money (which makes you earn like 40 bb/100 or more ). Playing 2NL should do both your confidence and your bankroll a lot of good, if you cant beat 2NL, dont expect to beat 5NL or up. Just do your labour, put in some hands and improve your game, there are a lot of leaks you can get rid of at 2NL without a doubt. And with decent bankroll management and mindset, a few bad beats at the time shouldnt really bother you
