I seem to have come to a BR ceiling. Played a session just now and lost 6bi in about 400 hands. I can't seem to get anywhere, and feel like I might be stuck at 600nl for the rest of my poker career. The showdown hands I get myself into are almost exclusively coinflips, and it seems that I've proven the law of large numbers in flipping and how it's entirely 0 EV. As I've mentioned before in an earlier post, my red line (non-showdown winnings) is always around break-even, so it just comes down to simple addition: 0 + 0 = 0.

Here's my 2009 graph:

I feel like I'm just wasting time sitting at the tables because every time I get a 5 bi upswing it's immediately met by a 5 bi downswing, and it's getting really old. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong because all the showdown hands are basically coinflips. I've asked about the non-showdown line before but the consensus seemed to be that the lines don't really matter. I've been running a bit bad lately but nothing compared to some people on LP with like -10 bi in EV or something.

Here are a bunch of hands that happened in today's session or very recently. It just seems like I'm better off just coinflipping like a degen instead of actually playing the game. Then again I'm down like 8k from organized flips. :/

Man have I ever felt that way too. Sometimes it just happens like that and you break even forever. For me things have always come around and gotten better if I just give it time.

The best thing to do imo is get someone who you respect and believe is a better player than you to give you some coaching. Not like 1 session or anything, try and organize for at least a month of full time.

Do you ever play post-flop? Seriously, AK is a drawing hand. You don't have to always stack off with it . . . sometimes you can fold it.

tomorrow, for sure

sounds like you need to mix up your game in some way or another

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

definitely not flatting 4bets, that sounds horrible. maybe find more spots to call PF with it though.

i think all this talk about trying to change the way you play AK is pretty results-oriented tbh.

you're a better player than me so i'm sure you know this, but whether or not you decide to flat AK more often in certain spots is largely dependant on what your overall 3-betting/flatting range is. i mean it's possible you should try flatting it more in position or w/e but it's not necessarily the case either. do these ppl making suggestions really know your game that well? -_-
