if his image is loose then I love getting stacks in here.
I mean, if you put oesds, AK, AQ and stuff in his minraise range (and similar hands in his shipping range), this will be massively +EV. As played I probably bet turn bigger and check down river. Riverbet feels close to neutral for me, maybe slightly +EV if he's really loose on later streets. |

My greatest concern is regarding how to play AK.
Some people think AK is a shoving hand PF, while others disagree.
I am unsure what to do when I 3bet AK OOP and then get 4bet.
How often do people 4bet with 1010, jj, QQ or even possibly AQ. Is it profitable to just shove? How often do you guys fold AK to a 4bet from an average aggressive player. |
I actually spent some time last night in HEM filtering all my stars hands by all-in preflop. It's only about 35k hands and not all of them at NL25 6max though. The results were interesting at least, even if their statistical significance is limited.
AA made tons of money, obviously.
KK lost a bit.
QQ lost a relatively large amount.
AK won a bit.
Worse than QQ lost the most.
I was mostly breakeven when I shoved and a loser when I called a shove. However, that's not factoring in money gained from folds. So I'm definitely a winner at shoving, and I might have lost more money if I folded rather than called shoves. It has certainly been more profitable for me to shove than to call shoves though.
How often do people 4bet with 1010, jj, QQ or even possibly AQ? Maybe it's selection bias or simply reaction to my style of play, but I never see people 4bet and fold to a 5bet, and they show up with 80% AA, KK, AK; 15% QQ; 5% bluff shoves. People seem to call JJ and TT to set mine your 3bets or to continue on a board with no ace or king - QQ falls into that category sometimes too.
I fold AK to 4bets from extremely tight players or passive fishy players if I think they're likely to only have AA or KK. Against TAGs, I sometimes like to just call AK and hope to stack AQ/KQ because they'll never believe I have AK; otherwise I'll jam over a 4bet and cross my fingers. |
