I was talking to John Galt the other day and he told me that he doesnt play on Stars because he has Rakeback and stuff on FTP and that for the limits I play I should be playing on FTP with rakeback because I would be making so much more.

Ok so lets just say Im a NL50 grinder. I play 5 hours a day and 6 tables. If I had 27% rakeback on FTP I would on average be making:

Daily rakeback $23
Weekly rakeback $160
Monthly rakeback $685

On Stars you dont really get a good rakeback unless you are a Nova... so is it +EV for me to play on a site with rakeback since Im still grinding micros? PLUS I would be getting a deposit bonus on FTP for $600. I mean $685 a month extra would just be sick.... plus the bonus... fml. I really need some advice here guys.

What's a guy to do?

The answer as always is that if you can make supernova, stars is probably best, if you can't FTP is. There's also something to be said for the consitency of ftp rakeback rather than the backloaded rewards of supernova. So if you have a high personal cost of capital as it were, FTP is your shit. That said, as an FTP player I'd sleep better at night if stars had my money (RSA TOKENS ZOMG).

Id think that making Nova playing NL50 is a tough task... AMIRITE?

imo, create a rakeback account for FTP using this link and then enjoy the benefits of FTP!

honestly tho, affiliate crap aside, i would choose FTP for low stakes. if you don't have supernova you are getting ripped off otherwise. be prepared for some riggedness though

I think deposit bonuses come out of ur rake back so the 600 wouldn't be a big deal

yeah, the way it works is they subtract the $600 from your MGR

if they didn't subtract the MGR you would normally have earnt 27% of that $600, which = $162 in rakeback.

so essentially the bonus is an extra ($600-$162) = $438 in extra money.

Everything has been said, except maybe one thing ?
nl50 in ftp is the worst from what i can remember compared to any others sites.
Maybe the recent change about ftp has seen its rake lowered but i doubt it.

worst in what aspect?

if you talk about rake then it's the same on nl 50 as on stars nl 50 from what ive understood.

it's nl 10 on FTP that is a huge ripoff (they take 10 %!)

and what lachlan said

bonus + rakeback is great even tough they deduct the bonus from your MGR

if you have a roll above 500 and wanna play nl 25 i would recommend FTP, then after that there are plenty of better sites for nl 100-200 which gives a lot of rakeback.

According to a thread I read recently this has changed recently to something like 6-7% Probably happened when they introduced NL2 and NL5
