After a few months of putting it off, I finally spent my ironman medals on the thing with the best conversion rate, tourney tokens (because it doesn't come out of your MGR). I had been dreading this, because given that there are no $26 sitngos the tokens must be used for MTTs, meaning while I was getting some nice EV rakeback,, there was a >50% chance that bitch Sklansky would steal all my monies. I have no idea what I'm doing in tourneys so I just opened up two 45 mans and a 90 knockout and promptly ran shit (ran good). Ship 5th in the 45 man and 6th in the 90 man (only one knockout though), something like 200 bucks. As a cash player I'll take it.
I'm not sure I'm going to do the same thing next month, I wish I could just mass table SNGs with them. Oh well, I think I'm going to start using points for the token sattys and then just playing shitloads of these so my real rakeback (precious MGR) doesn't get touched at all. Furthermore, I'd like to continue to win at cash. Hope everyone runs well.

yeah. I mean not entirely, but it's basically 27% less than face value so the $100 cash bonus takes $100 off mgr which means it's actually worth $73 |

Whereas the tokens only cost MGR if you use them in a tourney that has an overlay (and even then it's just your share of the overlay) |

wait so using ur ftps in tourneys doesn't affect rakeback? And I thought all ironman store items did not affect rakeback, or am i wrong?
edit: i know bonus affects rakeback. |

I mean there's not much in the ironman store. Bonuses do affect rakeback, and points do when you use them, so unless I want my rakeback in pants tokens are the way to go.
I'm not positive on the ftps not counting against mgr for tourney entries, I've heard conflicting things, either way it's better value than electronics marked up 50% or $3.50/1000 you get at 2+2 marketplace.
Tokens bought with Ironman defintitely don't count against MGR unless there's an overlay. |

Just to be in the program and get medals takes I think 15 days a month. I usually play about 18-20 each month and make silver/gold level. Now that you can buy days and even whole months it's definitely more flexible. Remember sessioning from 11pm-1am at nl50+ will get you two iron days usually, so it's not really like you're playing every day. FWIW I work full time and ski just about every weekend, but never miss a month of at least silver, and it's not tough at all. |

You missed it by 3 days. You don't get anything if you miss, but if you get 15 days you get silver (assuming you're 200+ each day) plus all those bonus medals for being over 500. A medal isn't all that much, they're only like 19c each at the $75 token conversion (what I'd assume you'd go for), but you also get the semiannual cash bonus ($25 for each bronze month, $50 for each silver, $75 for each gold, $100 for irons). So I wouldn't go too far out of your way to hit, but it is worth something. Assuming you'd played three more 200 point days (and it was your first month) you would have gotten 201 medals or like $37 dollars worth + $50 for the semiannual cash bonus (which doesn't cost MGR or medals) for $87 total. It gets a little more valuable as you rack up months, so the same month would be worth like $100 a few months from now.
For me, it's a nice structure to make sure that I put in hands. Aiming for 15x200+ every month isn't really that much of a grind, it adds some good structure, and even if the cash doesn't matter that much ,you can still get your own table.
Actually just did the calcs on myself and it adds up to be about another 6% in rakeback assuming I just hit gold and they continue to do semi-annual cash bonuses. I think it will be a little less for you because your going to be getting more medals and lower status. so maybe 3% extra rb? |

also lachlan you should already be bronze if I'm counting right for march, and two more 200+ days gets you silver. Again, even if you don't use the medals each level up is $25 bonus each month you do it. |

fwiw I read on 2+2 that using Full tilt points to buy into their version of the sunday million doesn't hit your mgr either. (unless there is overlay?)
It's like 40k-something points, they have an extra button in the lobby to buy with cash, $T, or points. |
