So after having to withdraw for school I decided to start over and be disciplined by using some sort of BR management. I have decided to use a 20-25 buy-in cushion depending on how long the previous limit took to beat consistently as well as how comfortable I am with the limit. I also plan to use a 50BB buy-in preference for the first few limits as I move up.
I left myself $8.56 after my withdrawal just to see if I could build up. I started playing NL2 a few days ago.
I was playing and came across this hand:
+ Show Spoiler +
I had been playing very loose and aggressive and the other players weren't really playing back.
The villain in this hand took half my stack once with AK vs QQ AIPF.
From my experience i know alot of people like check trips on dry boards but like to protect on boards that could help draws. How often do you think that my raise will be effective?

nice play, but to be honest, i dont see what you are expecting to call you that you have beat. So, it can be effective, but I'm not willing to play for stacks on this board with AA.
Also, why did you withdraw from school? Sounds like one of the worst life decisions, you're leaving nothing to fall back on. |
