Always more fun to write when you are doing good right? I don't know what's going on right now... I just can't lose. This must probably be one of the sickest heaters any poker player have experienced in the last year with the games being as though as they are. Hope this inspires some people to do good!

I guess a lot has to do with pretty good game selection and 30% being HU, which has greater variance. I think my constant focus on improving my winrate has benefited me a lot. Now it has come to the point where I don't wanna play anymore, because Im falling in love with my winrate too much and dont wanna ruin it . This leads me to only play really good games.

Since last post:

I blame my lack of result at 2/4 the latest 16000 hands on playing way too many tables and not paying any attention to the 2/4 games

I basically went through the exact same thing last year running like 8-9ptbb/100 for a good 150k hands from 3/6 through 10/20. Now i'm losing at about 5ptbb/100 for the last 20k hands at 2/4-5/10 and breaking even over a stretch of about 50k hands at 2/4 through 5/10. Variance in poker is so huge.

One day good. One day bad. And some days, even hope

This is really interesting. I couldnt win at 2/4 and 3/6 for like 50k hands before this, see last blog entry. However, I do think that I play significantly better poker now. But its just so strange to see my result, which are like double what I've seen on any other poker player over such a large sample. However, its obvious that my stats here prove that 100k is not even close to estimate your win rate in the long run.

Yea, and I definitely play worse poker in the last 50k hands than in the previous 150k hands, also during the last 50k hands i've been less happy in life itself, the games have become tougher since then etc. But agree with sample size, even within 100k hands, winrates etc can vary a LOT

Edit: Not to take anything away from your results, I know how it feels and it's great. Rocks to be you right now so congrats!

Being happy in life is essential. I cant understand how some grind 100k hands a month without feeling like shit and playing much worse due to this. It helps that I have a lot of other things going on such as studies, work and social fun. Playing with a friend in the room really helps too.
Read your last post about your aggresion and play. What has helped me a lot vs good regs is to tighten up a lot and pull less moves. Fancy play syndrome is in almost all semi-good players, so let them to that instead of you.

Yea definitely vs some people thats true, I just found that playing at $2/$4 through $5/$10 people are just way too tight and you can run them over a lot. It used to work for me a lot and since I started doing that again it's been working out so far, but we'll see.

It really depends on sites I guess. I have tuned down my aggresion a lot and have found great success in that, but once I play lower stakes I always increase my aggression a lot. On my sites, the 5/10 games generally suck big time and I try to avoid them (except HU). Much more value in grinding 3/6 and wait for fish at 10/20.
