So on Pokerstars the regular buy-in for both these limits is $6.

So, at a bank roll of $120, I'd assume that the $6 buy-in would mean I'm around 20 buy-ins for both... should I just stick to NL5 until I am a winning player or is there minimum skill difference between them so that I could just jump to NL10?

Also how many buy-ins should I have when I move up to NL25?

Thanks in advanced.

For NL5 you buy-in for $5-$10
For NL10 you buy-in only for $10.

How many BI's you choose depends on how much you are tilting, if you play FR or SH, if you are a winning player etc. you can play with 16-40 really.

I have personally decided to skip NL10 and go there just for a few days before NL25. Playing 200bb Deep is really fun. You can also Bluff at NL5 here and there because people fold, but NL10 they have only 100bb and they never release anything at all- maybe easier, but definitely boring.

A buyin is referred to as 100 big blinds at whatever limit.

So NL5 would be $5 and NL25 would be $25.

Hey Edzwoo, I go to the table with $10 NL5, does it mean its not a buy-in?

If youre BR means a lot to you and you want to grind it up - stick to NL5
If you dont really care and just wanna try run it up fast and have a high risk of busto - go to NL10

there is no real guideline how much u need to move up. but i would say 30 - 35 buyins for nl25. so ~ 750$ is okay to take good shots

I'd try nl25 with 20 buyins ($500), but be prepared to move down if you lose more than 5 bi's

I wouldn't play nl10 with anything less than $200
