Oh poker gods of yonder, for what reason must I suffer thine wrath?

I either run way worse than most people or I suck at poker, cause I swear I run bad much more often than I run good. I usually go about 1 month of downswing and then 1 week of upswing. So that means the vast majority of the time I'm playing poker I'm being coolered, sucked out on, set up, and generally shit upon. It can make this game very very NOT fun.

I was wondering about that myself, too

but i came up with this explanation.

I get sucked out a lot more than i get lucky due to the fact that i fold so many spots where i am behind ( can read boards) but would statisticly suck out from time to time.
-> this leads to the assumption that i get sucked out a loooot while i only suck out very few hands.

kinda something like that

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)Last edit: 14/04/2009 13:03

"It's really important to run good in your games, and if you don't run good it's really important to tell everyone how the software is rigged. So I'd go ahead and blog about that." -[vital]myth

So I think you're pretty much playing this right and I like your line here

sweet, glad I'm on point =)

I used to blog and whine a lot when running bad and then after I did enough of those I'd run good. Lately I decided not to blog while running bad... and I haven't been blogging about it but the good run is never coming. So I guess I have to do a certain # of whine posts before the poker gods will shine their grace upon me.

what a coincidence that everyone that runs horribly over their entire career and canvas of poker hands has congregated entirely in this one blog post.

WHAT IS THIS

it's all in ur head. don't emotionally attach yourself to results, it wont help you itlr. true confidence can only come from yourself. be patient and resolute and long term results will come gl

whamm is spot on.
losing the emotionally attach with your results is one of THE most important aspects of becoming a great poker player IMO. I still haven't been able to manage it, I hope I will one day though.

well this month alone ive ran bad/good so many times but since i play a shitton i always notice the it evens out like 80% of time eventually, IF you keep a level head while running bad, otherwise just smoke or do something else, rinse repeat. its all really a cycle of sickness, just limiting losses when ur at the deep end is what's impt, so always be in a good mood when u play

I really think it can be a good idea to complain. You don't wanna be that guy who keeps it all bottled up and then shoots up a convenience store.

Of course there are a lot of people for whom this isn't the case because when they complain about something they get real into the act of complaining and actually begin to exacerbate the problem by creating ad hoc problems to go complaining. But on the other hand some times things suck and it's nice to let the world know that you're here to point that out. Going on tilt afterward is, as myth would say, a separate mistake.

why do you want to depress me even more? =)

Yeah I agree with ya whamm and that's basically been what I've done. But like I mentioned in my last blog post, I tend to be having all my big coolers and beats and mistakes in deep pots. Basically I run bad for a few sessions, then run semi-good but lose 1-2 deep pots which wipes out my profit for the session so I break even, then I run bad again. So my graph is like straight down, flat for a while, then straight down, then flat for a while, and so on. So over the last month I've slowly lost money. It suckssssssssssssssss
