Yesterday I got a trojan called trojan.fakeavalert. I immediately locked my poker accounts, set my registry back to default values, restarted in safe mode, reran virus scan, deleted the bad stuff, and then restarted normally. Now my scans are coming up clean. Is there anything else I should do? Thanks guys.

google a little, there are some nasty viruses which leave tails that your antivir. will not detect. Sometimes there are special tools for a specific virus, but dont download any exe from a random site.
There is a tool called Hijackthis which is a cool thing which dumps a list of stuff that start up on your comp. There are forums where you can post this dump and ppl will analyze it and give you specific advice.
PM me if you have questions. |

put that exact virus name into google and make sure that you use whatever special removal tool you can find for it (from a reputable site). You probably already did that but just in case you didn't, you definitely should. I never trust the anti-virus program to be able to get rid of these things on its own. |

Also change your account password to something safe. Once you have changed it, send me the password and I'll let you know if it's really safe or not. |
