Well I joined this tournament an hour or so late on thursday because I didn't even know about it, but whatever they give you 20k starting chips and 90minute levels. So I got there at the beginning of 50-100 with 19,500 in chips. I had Allen Kessler to my right and soon found out that he's the biggest cry baby nit ever. A hand actually went down at 100-200 where the cutoff raised, allen defended the BB and check folded on a K82 flop. The cutoff flashed AK and allen actually said "Well at least I made a good call preflop." The cutoff gives him a confused look, and allen explains "Well I had the best hand preflop so I put all the money in when I was ahead and you got lucky!" He was legitimately upset and cried about that simple hand for a few minutes. I officially hate him. After he busted out apparently he text one of his friends at the table that he hit a $40k jackpot on his way out of the casino... So tilting...how does a guy like that who's a sick nit even make $2,500 in his life... let alone play a slot machine with his nitty nature.

Anyways on to the tournament. My starting table was meh, I mean your standard fish but a couple of online guys too including Matt "All in at 420" Stout.
Only interesting hands of my first table were me getting it in with AQ vs AQ on AQ3 with two clubs flop vs matt. The other hand was silly because I had 10k at 100/200/25 and someone opened and allen kessler 3-bet his first 3-bet of the tournament in the cutoff and since I'm not fond of folding AK I shipped it and he had QQ. He called and said "Oh great i'm not too good at these." To which I instantly responded "Oh, Awesome because I'm SOOOO good at these you have no idea" And of course flop is T93 all hearts and I have the heart so I binked it and scooped back up to my starting stack of 20k or so after chipping down a bunch. He whined a lot of course and talked about me never being ahead there...and I'm looking at him like "rly? you know i play online and you expect me to fold AK??? Ever???" Another interesting but standard hand that went down at 200/400/25 with 18k to start the hand, I pick up two black kings utg and raise it up to 1100. I get 4 callers and we see the flop 5 ways. It comes down Kh 8h 2h. I c-bet 3400 and it folds to the 3rd caller who raises all in and I obviously call and he flips up 67hh. I boat up and our table breaks shortly after with me having 40k or so in chips.

The rest of the day I chipped up a lot without showdown at a table full of fish to about 80k. Then the last orbit of the day I managed to get owned and drop down to about 55k.

Day 2 started at 2pm on friday and I had an interesting table with a couple of aggressive regs and a couple of big fish. So there was an interesting dynamic going on of me 3-betting aggressive guys and getting like cold called by the fish lol. So that led to some awkward spots that I don't really remember to be honest but my stack fluctuated from 55k to 30k to 75k back to 50k then back up to like 100k by 1k/2k/200. After that I got moved to Corwin Cole's table and Patrick "Bigred0000" Stemper's table and they were both to my left but corwin was pretty short and went out with QQ vs AK shortly after I got there.

I built up my stack steadily to about 190k and played a couple of hands vs patrick. One that I remember was I raised up A4dd in EP and he flatted on the button. Flop came down K42 rainbow and I elected to check and give patrick a chance to bluff at it and just kind of decide where I wanted to go with the hand. He fairly quickly bet out 8k. I called after not much thought thinking that he had me on a mid pocket pair up through QQ. The turn was a 5 and I checked again, Patrick fired out 13k almost instantly and I called after about 10 seconds pretty much thinking that patrick would be 3 barreling me a good chunk of the time here and I also had a slight timing tell on patrick that he was betting very quickly thus making me think that he was bluffing more often than value betting. The river was an interesting card, an offsuit Ace fell. I thought for a few seconds and checked and patrick bet 19k. I obviously instantly called since I have pretty much the nuts here and he showed down AJ and he told me later that he'd be 3 barreling and putting me in a tough spot on the river so I think the hand was played well by both of us.

I don't remember a lot more hands in this tournament except that I doubled up a TERRIBLE player when he limp raised after i raised AQs vs like 4 limpers to 20k at 2k 4k 500 ante and he limp raised to 44k and I shoved 200k effective and he had kings. I flopped a flush draw, turned a straight draw and still missed, crazy shit. I had 20bb after that hand and lasted until the end of 3k 6k when I shoved AJ and ran into Kings. Finished the tournament in 19th place and made a laughable amount for 2 day's work. First place was 200k, not bad for a 280 man field. Good luck to basebaldy and Mossified84 who are at the FT today.

That's about it for that report, hopefully it wasn't too boring. TTYL blog.

you are definitely good at those flips

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time
