Just saw this trailer for a new documentary coming out about gay Congressmen who have strong anti-gay voting records. I guess over 90% of these guys are Republicans, lolz. Obviously these guys are in the closet. I dunno if I'd bother to go see this, but if it was on TV on a Sunday afternoon I'd probably watch and laugh at the hypocrisy. Though I do worry that some innocents might get caught up in the crossfire here. At the same time, it totally fits for some of the most homophobic anti-gay activists in the GOP to be closet fags.

interesting, but i'd be surprised if the congressmen in question are actually gay and this isn't some sort of flimsy stretch on the part of the documentary writer. |

yeah that worries me too - who knows if it's just a bunch of crazy guys claiming to have fucked these congressmen just to bring down their career or if they really did it =/ But it also doesn't feel like a stretch to me for this stuff to be true. I'd have to see it to form any real opinion. |

Whenever you have a particularly outspoken individual, all one must do to see their true point of view, is consider it to be the exact opposite of how they present it.
There are plenty of anti-gay people who are just shitheads and genuinely dont like homosexuals because of how they were raised. These people are not closet homophobes. But you take someone who gets on the pulpit, and at every opportunity they not only decry homosexuality, they outright demonize it, bash it, slam it, and go into some furious tirade about the whole thing, well you can instantly assume that they are likely a homosexual. It's funny how the psyche works. |
