I just remembered how much of a let down their season 1 finally was (not as much as this obviously), but they brought Sylar and Peter together and they didn't even fight really. It was hiro who handled business. One of the biggest undertones of the show has always been Sylar vs Peter, and the way they decide to finally do it is have two gimp fliers attacking the most powerful guy in the world who could stop them in their tracks with telekenisis, control them like puppets, freeze them, use that sound wave shit, go nuclear, etc... |

yeah masterfrywad, you speak the truth. The idea of those 2 flying in and having any sort of chance was ridiculous. |

peter just needed to touch him to take all of his powers. but yeah this show has been a massive disappointment since season 1. i thought the season 1 ending was fine because they said all along that hiro would be the one who kills sylar |

I've been confused on that - does peter now have EVERY power that sylar had PLUS the ability to steal powers? or did he just take shape shifting? I mean he couldn't fly after nathan / sylar, but sylar was able to fly back into the room......... then in the car he said "bet you didn't think I'd take that one" to sylar when he changes from the prez to himself. I totally got the impression that peter only to shape shifting |

Am I the only one who thinks limiting Peter's powers to one at a time actually kept the show together. Same with Hiro. After season 1 (and even during) the characters got way too strong and they efficiently became huge plot hole generators, everything they did and didn't do became a plot hole, because they technically "could have" done something about it.
I mean simply Sylar with super hearing is one of the things they've completely forgotten and once per episode, someone sneaks up behind him and shoves a knife/piece of glass in the back of his head.
The latest season kinda tried to pick up from that by eliminating lot of the power of the strongest characters and I think that's one step closer to recovery altho I think the level of the series overall has deteriorated exponentially since the season 1 finale. |

i agree that a little nerfing was in order. peter and sylar were approaching critical mass as far as powers went. plus here was imba from day 1 |

you speak truth sai, I say thankee
I basically do this with any show I liked at first... for example, prison break. I loved the first 6 episodes. Then it got kinda mediocre, ended ok. Second season was annoying but bearable. 3rd season I wanted to punch the screen after most episodes but kept watching. 4th season I finally gave up.
Heroes has been a similar journey, though it never hit the lows of prison break. Season 1 I loved and watched in 1 night. Season 2 was fun but at times I hated it and overall it barely reached "good". Season 3 started horribly so I gave up.... untill I got really bored and decided to give it another show knowing that I had like 20 episodes to watch. Mediocre shows get a boost if you can watch episodes back to back. Waiting a week to see a new episode of a mediocre show just sux balls.
Overall season 3 sucked in the beginning and got back to mediocre by the end. So it's still doing better than prison break but sure as hell isn't LOST. God, I miss LOST. My lady and I are waiting for the current season to end before we watch any episodes cause we like to take a day or 2 away from the world and just power through LOST episodes. Fuck waiting a week, we'd rather wait a few months and then get to do it all back to back.

you make a good point - part of me felt that limiting hiro and peter was a good thing cause I kept thinking "WTF he coulda stopped time and avoided that" or "he could just travel back in time 5 minutes and do it right" and blah blah. But at the same time I get frustrated watching sylar build powers while peter has jack shit going on. I always liked the future flashes where peter had all sorts of powers and have wanted to see him build to that point. plus, he needs another haircut. he's back to the douchebag hair. he looked much more badass with the shorter hair in the beginning of season 2. and mentioning season 2, wtf ever happened to the girl he was digging that he left in the future with the virus? guess she just got screwed.
but you're wrong on the sylar super hearing thing. I was having the same issues so I finally went online and researched everyones powers via the heroes wikipedia shit, and it turns out that when sylar was in mexico he lost all powers except his original power and the telekenisis one. So he doesn't have super hearing anymore. I know, they did a horrible job of making that clear in the show. Overall they BLOW at making it clear WHAT power people have, WHAT powers they lose, and WHAT powers they gain. It's fucking confusing. Every episode people can do brand new shit without any explanation. But if you go online there's some vague thread that makes it plausible. Like "oh peter can fart so loud that it destroys your sperm cells cause in season 2 episode 7 he walked past a guy who was a hot dog vendor who has that power and peter took it without knowing it... yes the hot dog guy had no lines but he was there!"
overall compared to season 1 the show is way worse. I think limiting the powers has been good but hiro and peter having no power was really annoying. |

lol @ peter vs sylar battle happening behind a closed door.
I guess they decided to not show the fight rather than showing another epic fail/let down of a fight that was between them in season 1.
Sylar is now Nathan. Who is still leet with watches.
what a terrible fucking show it got a bit decent again mid-season but now its back to shit lol |

guys, watch it high
it makes the show so much more enjoyable, and you dont think as deeply as you should in regards to -"why the fuck doesn't clair just keep giving people her blood like she did to her dad to revive them' etc. that is unless you tend to think on an even deeper level when you are high, than this show will piss you off. |
