Switching Seats |

Switching seats on stars can be a very tilting experience, especially if you use tableninja. While I love tableninja I do have this one complaint... see, I have it set to sit down and buyin on any table that gets opened. This is a great feature and saves a shit load of time and prevents the distraction of having to deal with a buyin on a new table while playing a hand. But if you're already on a table and sitting OOP on a fish, and then the seat to the left of the fish opens up, you're in for a shitty time to get that seat.
Part of this suffering is due to stars. You can just click the seat and move there (unless there was an upgrade I don't know about). You have to leave the table, reopen the table via the lobby, and then choose the new seat. That's a pain in the ass as usually it takes forever to find the table in the lobby and then when you leave you often come back to find someone else already took the seat and you have to just sit back in the seat you had before... and sometimes your old seat is gone too, so now you're off the table. Balls.
If you try that procedure with tableninja on, you could be in for more suffering. Tableninja likes to take empty seats on the right side of the table first, so if you were sitting far right and the fish is far left, and you want top left, you gotta turn tableninja off. Otherwise you just reopen the table and it auto sits you in and buys in for you on the far right seat that you had before.
This extra step sucks balls. Cause now I'm not only dealing with the pain in the ass pokerstars way of moving seats, but I gotta deal with tableninja too.
I tilted really badly earlier tonight because of this... I was 250bb deep on a table with only 1 fish on it, the rest were regs. The 1 fish was directly to my left. He managed to double through me and at the same time knock out the guy to his left. So after getting raped I thought "I am gonna take all his monies" and then I see the empty seat! YES, POSITION ON THE FISH! I hunt the table down in the lobby, turn off table ninja, exit the table, reopen it, and take the seat, and turn back on table ninja. Seems like a success right? Nope, for some reason PS decided that despite me losing like half my stack the previous hand, they think I left the table with 250bb and force me to rebuy for that amount. At first I think this is some sort of mistake, so I try to leave the table and rebuy again for the amount I had when I left... I turn of tableninja, find the table in the lobby, exit the table, reopen it and NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, a reg has taken the seat to the left of the fish.
BALLS
Anyway, it takes a LONG time to play 1k hands while 3-4 tabling. I think I just played about 4 hours straight and got like 1.4k hands in. damn.

you can set up tableninja so that it immediately takes a seat but allow you to manually confirm the buy-in amount. This is helpful when there is a 5 player high VPIP table and i immediately sit down as fast as the software will allow. If I don't get the seat I want I can press the cancel button and immediately choose another seat on the table without reopening anything.
so mess around with those checkboxes |

You can also set it up so that you have to click which seat you want, and then it handles all the buying in etc. automatically.
Instantly solves your problem |

ofcourse you cant click seats to move there on stars or any other site lmao, and for good reason. id consider switching seats in the middle of a running game to be on a similar gayness level as grimming people so it always makes me happy to see when a reg trying to get a better pos on a fish loses his seat instead |

QFT
sounds like whining to whine. I have no real problem since on new tables people would just keep clicking new seat, 1 after another. End up like hopscotch. |

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time | |

also why do you need all that software to play 3-4 tables........., also it takes 1 second to find your tables now with the highlight feature. If anything you needed to bitch about this before the update a couple weeks ago. |

Playing less than 8 tables I would think seating yourself would be pretty easy. Regardless, do as vegable said. Disable TN's "auto-confirm" box or whatever it is called, so that you still have to agree to the amount you are buying in for. This way you can simply click cancel when it selects an unfavorable seat, and sit where you want.
I dont think the stars rebuy amount is a mystery anyone, as this is pretty standard in poker, to prevent hit n run style tactics denying people the right to win their money back. TN used to have more sophisticated seat selection code but it ran into risky territory against stars TOS for "software making player decisions" so they had to cut it out so that it still remained only a tool which YOU control.
Stars should definitely implement a simply "move seat here" mode though, going to email that to them now. |

I still had the fish covered. I think I had like nearly $300 and he had like $220 or something after I lost the hand, but there were 2 regs on the table with $350+ so I didn't wanna be sitting deep with those regs since I personally have very little deep experience and kinda wanna avoid it vs other regs. =) |

tableninja seems really, really unnecessary when 4 tabling. |

not at all.
it gets rid of so many annoying random things and popups and so on. Plus I have a bunch of keys set up for different bet sizes (% of pot) and whether I'm 1 tabling or 24 tabling, I'd rather just think "I wanna bet about 1/3" and hit a button and have that amount in there, and then mouse wheel it up or down to get it just right. Mostly it removes a shit load of minor annoyances which can cause distraction at the wrong moment. Even while 4 tabling sometimes you get 4 hands at once that require all of your attention, and at that moment it's great that tableninja is preventing minor distractions from harassing you. |
