I made a post a while back about good movies that were missed due to bad advertising, and sfydjklm made the above post. I decided to put the Directors Cut of Butterfly Effect on my DVD list and see if he was tellin truth. He sure as hell was, cause that movie was fucking awesome! Total mind fuck and really well done. I'm not gonna say anything more other than go put it at the top of your queue.
Now I have to go and look up what the original version was like. I mean, what were the differences between the original and the directors cut... if you can tell me then please do so in a spoiler. I'm dead curious to find out what the changes were.

I never saw it in theatres, but I really enjoyed it a lot when I saw it on DVD. I thought it was excellent. |

I thoroughly enjoyed the theatrical release so I'm pretty hyped to see the directors cut now, didnt even know one existed. Who'd have thunk that Ashton Kutcher could play a legitimate role. Is it as fundamentally badass as the DC version of Donnie Darko? Another fine example of DC vs theatrical releases. |

yeah I heard that was a crap ass straight to dvd attempt to make more monies
I read up on it and it seems the directors cut has a hugely different ending and a lot of new scenes that make the ending make sense. I'm glad I saw the directors cut first rather than the theatrical version. wikipedia says there's like 4 different endings to the movie, lol. |

WTF. donnie darko is the shit as is. now you have me wondering what the DC version is like.
man, same with butterfly effect which i thought was cool.
but ya, donnie darko is easily in my top 10 of movies, as is. shit, guess i gotta buy the dc version |

You should watch the alternate ending of I am Legend. Changes teh whole movie, and was supposed to be the real ending but wasn't "hollywood" enough |

Meh, I dont see how it changed anything at all really. In fact I preferred the hollywood ending, it was a lot more dramatic. I had a feeling there was some personal motive behind the alpha-zombie, but either way they didnt bother delving into that, so Will Smith going jijad on the zombies packed a lot more punch. |

I liked the alternate ending, but I can't remember, after he gives the girl back what happens? Does he go with them to the survivors?
I didn't like the hollywood ending so much cause he had a freaking hand grenade, it wouldn't cause that explosion. Plus he only killed the vampires in the basement, I'm sure there were more upstairs who would then go down and kill the woman/kid. |

If I recall right the biggest difference is the ending, I don't think there were any crucial changes outside of that. |
