ppl used to tell me to sit at the tables with the highest flop % saying those were the tables with all the calling stations. after searching for tables with 40% or above flopping % the only correlation i've found is that there is a bigger chance for idiot short stackers which mess up my game. anyway i've found that no such correlation in my winning/losing sessions.
do you guys have any good experience with this? do you feel like certain table % are easier than others? do good players change the stats and make hard tables easier to identify?

ur unlikely to find good tables over 40% even at the lowest of stakes, of course they are there but generally ur better off looking for tables with bigger stacks since a table with 60% seen flop and all are shortstacks is annoying to play on
i consider anywhere over 20%, with majority big stacks and decent size avg pot is a good table. i then join the table and will leave if it sucks. |

I often find that these aren't really accurate a lot of the time and tables with a high players/flop % and high avg pot are often tight and nitty. I used to use these to table select and would sit at terrible tables full of TAG regs and whatnot for hours on end and not change the table either lol. If you just use these stats to table select, you can do a lot better.
Open tables, look for fish. Look at previous HHs, look for lots of medium pots won rather than a string of small pots and one large pot where there was a cooler. Look how people are playing. You want to play with loose passive fish. See who's limp calling a lot. Do they have big stacks? 75bb? 80bb? 100+bb? If you sit at a table and it doesn't end up to be as good as you initially thought, just leave and find a new one. If the fish that you were targetting leaves and its just a bunch of regs who you don't feel you have an edge on, just leave. Stuff like that.
I know it takes a bit more time but if you're struggling in the games and have not practiced proper table selection before your winrate will soar. Now go find some fish to valuetown.
