Hey, so I haven't really played poker much for a while cos of uni work and stuff, but I thought it might be fun to share my latest assignment with you guys.
I'm doing an assignment on computer graphics, and how to avoid aliasing (visible as moire patterns and jagged edges) in computer graphics.
To the point, I processed a picture of Karina Nose for giggles:

Now, if you can be bothered reading past here, the description of each picture follows:
Original picture (large image)
dumbly resized image: one pixel in every square containing 49 pixels is taken, the rest are discarded.
slightly less dumbly resized image: the colour values of 49 pixels are averaged to give one pixel in the smaller image.
another slightly less dumbly resized image: a random pixel within the square of 49 pixels is chosen, and the rest are discarded.
a little bit smartly resized image: 25 random pixels are chosen from the square of 49, and averaged to give the colour of the pixel in the resized image.
